Anyone running e-85

success or failure, worth the trouble or not, starting to become more available in KC between my house and the track. Seems like a natural to run with some nitrous

Generally e85 is helpful with high compression motor or boosted motors as a substitution for race gas, however, with our bikes only needing 89 octane, I doubt that you would see gains. It would help the bike run cooler if that's your thing, but plan on 30% worse gas mileage, and you might be running your injectors at the maximum duty cycle. Also, e85 will eat anything that isn't stainless. I believe you would want to at least inspect the fuel system and possibly upgrade the pump, lines, and maybe even injectors.
With that being said, this would be an EXCELLENT fuel for turbo or nitrous bikes! Imagine a 60 shot with e85!!!!!!!! YOWZA!!!!!!!

there was a test a few months ago by a motorcycle magazine. 1- your ECU is NOT set up for e-85, you simply cant get enuf dwell time out of your injectors nor do you have the correct mapping program. even while dyno testing to achieve the same power there was much to be done.
no doubt in a few years some cruisers, & tourers will get that software + ECU to accomdate
e-85 gas & will do very well. Hi Perf machine like most sport bikes wont have any advantage. swapping out to add NOS or a turbo is not economical. unless the govt subsidizes ethanol it probably wont be any cheaper, just homegrown !
