this bitch keeps getting faster
Just a report of last night at the track. 8.70 163 mph. What i was really impressed with was 132 mph in the 1\8th. Who says a stock engine wont last with nitrous. Ive been beating on mine since new. This things bulletproof.

Good Job Rick, the air is great this weekend.
You should be running it in competition.
There are only 3 of us out there this weekend.

gateway management has lost it.
Nelson i would be still running today. But the way gateway screwed the racers for this race, it was a joke. I talked to the out of towners and they said they would never come back. I voiced the racers complaints, and the management said deal with it, (including jason). You will be lucky if the winner gets paid. The payout for bracket race is a joke. They are just raping us. A couple weeks ago, Out of some 30 plus bikes, $40 dollars to enter, I got 3rd it payed 48 dollars. There is no reason to give money away. It seems that gateway takes your money at the gate, then makes up the rules as they feel like it. If we had a different track close id never go to gateway again. They talk about the economy making it hard to run a good program. Its these people making it hard, I know you dont like to talk bad about any1, but i know your thinking the same thing. Anyway keep killing those busas like you do. BTw your bike was looking good saturday. See ya.

I have a buddy that drove 6 hrs there by himself and he called yesterday pissed. said he got one time trail and then got beat first rd and was done. then said it was 100 to test and tune. seems like a joke to me. guess I will never make it there for that event. Sounds like a high priced social event to me. Just think Nelson you should have made the drive to Iowa a couple times and ran for the 1000.00 for the 35 doallar entry fee! and they had 10.00 buy backs if you lost first rd.

Bently your exactly right thats what happened, Then when we got to eliminations, we make 1 pass and they said to wait for the next day to race. I won my 1st round but left anyway, im not gonna drive 100 miles 3days in a row for that bullshit. btw who is your buddy?

Rick, trust me your not alone. I live 15 min's from a track that i refuse to race at for the very same reasons you have mentioned above. I refuse to spend a cent of my money there, and drive 1 hour to another track that actualy wants bikes and teams to show up. I also happen to be lucky enough to live less then 2 hrs away from MIR and you all know they appreciate our business. I hope things change for the better out your way,but doesn't sound to good....Bill

1.48 best, on that run it was only a 1.50. Im def not bragging on my riding. But i was saying the bike makes good power, for stock+nos. Bently, i raced a stretched gsxr friday, think the dude was from kansas city. On saturday i raced a girl on a stretched gsxr with a air shifter etc. It was bracket competion on saturday so i ran my hoopty 11 sec bike. No use beating on my faster bike for bracket. Was your buddys busa orange\black, cause i think i remember seeing him riding around.

Bently I got a chance to see and speak with Ondre on Sat. He is riding the 08 well.
Maybe next year we can get out of town for some races in Iowa and get back to Byron, IL
He and everyone else was a hugely dissappointed in the way this race is ran every year.
I wouldn't of run it if I had somewhere else to go locally to bracket race.
Rick,
The one time run sat hurt just about everyone who couldn't test on Friday, myself included.
I broke out Saturday and Sunday. Craig from K-City, MO ended up winning the payout $800 was guaranteed becuase UBDRA put up the $$$$ not Gateway. The entry fee way to high.
On another note I am still amazed at how few ZX14's are at the tracks racing. Counted only three racing this weekend. This things are crazy fast and love good air.

Nelson, we will be at Byron alot next year! and your right about how few 14's there are. that's a main reason I went back to one there's at least 8 to 10 busa's weekly at my track and not one 14. How the shop can't even sell a 14 so how are they going to be at the track. he's ordering no 09's.

wow .. you guys sound like us in Calgary after a secret street race on Friday's !!
I ran my first ever sanctioned race a few weeks ago ...
they told us last second we were having a pro tree ... ust the bikes ?? WTF ?
so ok .. can you say fargin wheelie ?? got that all sorted .. one test ... one trial ... and racing .. not what I expected ..
then we race ... I go up against the fastest guy on the track with a turbo Busa and many years of racing exp. ( yes . I needed to relax lol )
so there was a big delay from a car that had gone and tossed some crap out .. great for me .. time to get into my head and be the time .. worked well I think ..
I BEAT THE FASTEST MOST EXPERIENCED GUY OUT THERE !!!! WHOOO HOOOOO !!!!
wow ... what a great time ... not your guys times .. but 10.2 at 3500 FT in 60 degree's wasn't horrible... did I mention I won ??? hehe.
so now we all ran ... both my buddies take there guys out .. and one dude was sporting wheelie bars . we were one happy set 'o campers ..
now .. we find the clock was off ... the computer was F'in up and the bitchin starts ... it was off the same for everyone so my win still stands ... but ...
that was the last we saw of a clock or lights ... as I have seen at our dying track EVERY time I have been ... more issues than racing .. truly a shitty experience ...
no prizes cause it never got past round 1 ... they wanted to finish it up "pinks" style .. WTF ?? for cash and trophies ?? I on't think so Tim ...
so .. there ends the night ... and the last ever race at Race City motorsports park in Calgary, Alberta ...
the place might get a few track rentals next year and the city has opted to not renew the lease ... so ends the history of racing here and out with a winper ... good F'in iddens if that's how it plays out ... that was the biggest let down I've had in years ... no finals for anybody .. Jr's finished on pinks ... kids got to have something .. rest of us .. whatever ..
so now it's illegal street racing ... and a 2 hour trip to the next closest track ...
we are in the best econony since shit hit the fan .. we export more resources ( mostly oil ) than anyplace but Suadi... and we can't get an NHRA track cause it might snow in May ?
right ...
so before I close ... I want to have a moment of silence for the few isiots who are going to die on our streets next year from having no place to go ... most won't .. but these few will ...

If it was a blue and white gixxer it was a friend of mine Jeremy Butler, we have raced each other quite a bit at KCIR. He was telling me about the 1000 dollar payout and it sounded exciting, but it sounds like everyone got screwed. And Craig is a class act, he told me how much better of a track Gateway is(the pavement that is). The guy is a hell of a rider.
