Elvington today.
I've just been looking at the news from Elvington, UK where 200mph/Straightliners are holding a meeting this weekend. The weather is dry so far but strong side winds are making life interesting and rain is forecast.
Here's a quote:
"Jack Frost goes 251mph in the standing mile faired and 222mph unfaired with a 40mph side wind, wheels were doing 260 plus mph and he was leaned over into the wind on the 251mph run"
That's Jack Frost on his Turbo Haybusa, real quick and nerves of steel.
____________
Candy Thunder Blue 2006 ZZR1400
Stock wheelbase
Max: 205.4 mph in 1.25 miles
2012 ZZR1400 in Golden Blazed Green
Brock CT Full System. etc
Max: 203.1 in 1 mile (so far)

That is some pretty scary stuff. LSR is a hobby of mine. I wouldn't want to run 180 with that sidewind...much less 250!

Bob,
I guess every country has a Land Speed racer with steel gonads, ours here is Charlie. He either wheelies or white smokes the tire at high 250's.......your guy seems even more determined.
I've been shoved over 6-8 feet running 200 and gave up. Like Shane said, I sure wouldn't do it. Side winds are scary stuff.
Thanks for the update.
