What is the best tach feed for the shift light?

I use the number four coil wire. Have been running the light all year and it has been good.

I can't get it to work. currently the switch is set to 2 it shows four cylinder mode. 5 on the 1000 dial 6 on the 100 dial, but it hasn't come on at that rpm ???

If you wire it to a single coil on plug, you have to set it for 1/2 pulses per rev or all three dipswitches off.

Edit- it also means that the highest you can set it is 10000rpms.
