06,07,08 ZX-14,Can u tapp into the OEM shift light & use another LED light?
06,07,08 ZX-14,Can u tapp into the OEM shift light & use another LED light?
Was wondering if you could tapp into the shift light(maybe somewhere on harness to ECU ?) & use just another LED light?? You would have a brighter light & still set it the original factory way??

from what I hear the OEM shiftlight is a mini led attached to the circuit board inside the gauge cluster and cannot be tapped

If you can find the proper connection on the ciruit board then yes more than likely you can.

U could find the soldered connection and solder a wire to it but then you would have to run it between the gauge top cover and bottom cover, which could damage the seal and cause it to leak water into it, i have had it apart several times, i put blue LED's in mine, its fairly simple though.

Cajunboyz, i was going to explain on another site about soldereding the board but i get some one trying to bait me over there,for what reason i don't know'' but i did a little fishing myself with a responce that means nothing. I want to see what the reaction is. I was going to pm you and let you in'but saw this instead.... Bill..
