This is what you gotta do. Put a black Brock's emblem on the side and EVERYONE will be suckin you off. That's all it needs, then there will be so many people debating on what's the best exhaust the CT or yours. Man, I'm just a fuckin genious.

What is the diameter of the single flow path leaving the collector? Not the mid-pipe/muffler core diameter, but instead the exit at the collector (where the mid-pipe bolts up).

I know what you're searching for so here's the calculations for you:

2" = the single side exit diameter from the Y split
2.25" = the inside diameter of the new can.
1.25" = the factory can diameter exit pipe.

Here's the total surface area of the factory dual pipes first:
1.25" stock pipe exit diameter (side one, I'll double this at the end for the factory dual pipes)
.625" = Radius of that opening.
The formula is: Pie X (radius X radius) = Area of the circle (or hole in our case) Pie = 3.14
3.14 X (.625 X .625) = 1.2265625
Here's the doubling: 1.2265625 X 2 = 2.453125 total area of the dual factory exit holes combined.

Here's the NEW setup:
2.25" new pipe diameter (single side ONLY)
1.125" = Radius of that opening.
The formula is: Pie X (radius X radius) = Area of the circle (or hole in our case) Pie = 3.14
3.14 X (1.125 X 1.125) = 3.9740625 total area of the new single sided exit hole.

The new setup has 1.6 times the exit pathway for exhaust gasses than the dual factory pipes combined. Add the fact that there are NO baffles (thus no bending and reversing of the exhaust gasses inside the muffler), NO cats and a better scavenging effect from the wrapped headers and straight flow path through the new straight muffler design and you can imaging how much better the new setup flows exhaust gas away from the motor.

To get it perfect, I'll need some dyno time and a PCIII but even now it is a BIG improvement over the stock cans both in performance AND sound. I've been riding sport bikes since 1984 and am quite capable of feeling power differences WITHOUT the help of a computer or dyno. So YES, it IS making more power because my ass says so.
FINE tuning will be done with the help of machines but I'll put my "seat of the pants feel" up against a dyno ANY day for a basic good/bad determination of power increase.

Damn, you've definitely done your homework.........I'm sold..........and I don't think it looks bad at all -- kudos to you sir for taking initiative. I, for one, appreciate your efforts and may have tested this very mod on mine if it wasn't already fitted and tuned beautifully by Brocks

Just checking in and saw my old post revived. Still running this setup. Still fast as hell. Still sounds great and still not a single problem with the motor.

LOL I got a bucket of water ready. The big azz tips help shape a nice rolling fireball and amplify the decel pop nicely. At night I get a one to two foot flame out the back during decel at around 3000 RPM. Good for scaring the "Busas".
