Thanks. I truly appreciate the offer. The TIME is right. I'd LOVE a "real" system. Unfortunately the wallet is lagging behind a little. lol
Since gas prices went up, and stocks went down, car sales are in the toilet and so is my paycheck. I honestly have all I can do to make my bike payments and insurance. Affording a costly "bike specific" exhaust is not in the cards for me right now.
This was "the next best thing".

Bet you're just PISSSED you spent thousands on your:
"Tsukigi full system, pipercross race filter, pcIII " LOLOLOL
And yes, performance CAN be enhanced since the exhaust flow is HIGHER now given there are no cats or baffles to restrict the flow like there were in the stock cans.
by what i see you didnt remove any "cats" or "baffles" by installing a ricer muffler on your bike. and you think you got more performance with that thing?... to each their own is all i know to tell you...

The ricer muffler you refer to is a straight thru design and most definitely will make more power, the same as any other straight thru design. There are no baffles or cats in that muffler. Just because is doesnt say Muzzy on the side doesnt mean it isnt any good.

I think that thing looks extremely cool. You're the only one who's got one which makes it twice as cool. Also, it was cheap which makes it even more cool. It's hard to beat something that makes you happy and costs nothing.
Sound clip IS beautiful. Thanks for sharing this ingenius mod.

The cats and baffles on the ZX-14 are all located INSIDE the factory muffler (guess he didn't know that). The 2007 ZX14 has no center cat thus removing the stock mufflers removes all restrictions. The 3A muffler's quality INTERNALLY rivals ANY motorcycle specific pipe I've ever seen (and I've cut my share of them open in the 25 years I've been riding). They carry a LIFETIME warranty against perforation and "blowout" and will NEVER need repacking. The design is a straight through 2" perforated pipe and gives a deep melow tone at idle with a growl at speed. Installed on th 14, it sounds NOTHING like it normally does when mounted on an Accura or Honda if that's what the other poster was referring to as a "ricer" muffler. The outside "look" is a matter of taste, I happen to like the way it looks and as said earlier, at least it's DIFFERENT.

Dude,
Thumbs up for fabbing up a unique system. I really like the way it sounds. If it were on my bike I may go with a bit smaller tip, but overall I really like the lines of a short can. I'm one of the guys that spent thousands on a Ti setup. Don't sweat the haters. They need to make themselves feel better about spending more money than you. If you got people that are passionately for or against you in anything, you know you're doing something right!

Haters are a sign of success.
Keep doing your thing!
I'll bet all the people that bought slip-ons , wish the had spent a little time and a little money.
Looks good to me.

Thanks a million. I agree. I too wanted a smaller tip (on the pipe not on me lol) but this is what they had on ebay so cheaply and for an experiment, it was THE way to go. Now that I like the way it turned out (it works) I may buy one that looks more like a bike pipe from Pep Boys auto centers for $59.00.
Thanks again, I appreciate the vote of approval. ;o)

If you cut the ricer tip off the end of the muffler, it would look like a bike exhaust.

NYC...you were right. Mounted the 3A can today and it is the best sounding muffler I have heard on a ZX14. I welded the can right to the mid pipe so I wouldnt have to use a muffler clamp. I have a little cleaning up to do on the weld and I will get a picture up in a day or two. Took my shorty pipes off as they were too loud but this pipe is absolutely perfect. Thanks again for the info !!

Ok, I'm a little confused.
For a while, everyone thought that the avatar of the 14 with the "HUGE" muffler was the coolest thing that they've seen.
Now that someone decides to bring it to life, folks have an issue with it.
I'm just glad to see something different.

Glad to hear you tried it. Absolutely EVERYONE who has heard it "live" can't believe how good it sounds. (best they've ever heard in every comment)
If anyone's considering switching exhaust, what have they got to loose trying a 3A on their original mid pipe before spending hundreds on a system?
I just finished wrapping my headers and the bike runs quite a bit cooler too without the headers heating the radiator anymore.

Yep, quite serious. lol Been riding since 1984 and have customized more than my fair share of bikes. There's nothing wrong with experimenting on something you own and it's a lot more fun than running out and just buying the "latest and greatest" bullshit someone else just like us experimented with, had the $$$ to manufacture and advertise the shit out of so fools (also like us) can blow hundreds or thousands of dollars on.
Make your OWN "cool stuff" and enjoy the compliments and/or performance if it works or go back to the drawing board and start over if it doesn't.
Fu$k Muzzy, Kerker, Ti, and Vance. All they are over rated straight pipes with dyno-researched fuel maps. Create your own and if you want max performance out of it, do your own dyno map work.

Thanks ghost. BTW the 3A pipe is quite a bit SMALLER than the factory can.

And a heck of a lot lighter. The two old cans weigh 32 pounds together and the new setup weighs 8 pounds. Big difference. NYC...what did you use to wrap your header ???
