ZX14 Nitrous Question

How much you spraying, How are you spraying (spray bar, Single Nozzle, Wet, Dry, Progressive, or straight shot). Hows the motor doing, & what are your motor mods. Any stock motors with bigger than a 50 shot living under the pressure.

I am currently hitting a 60 shot. Wet. progressive.
The springs need to be upgraded. I havent done mine yet. But I can actually see where my valves have been bashing the top of my pistons. because they "are not strong enough to recoil fast enough."
Either way I'm still all stock.........

I think I'll start with a 30 shot. I would love to ride a n2o bike first though.

Stk pistons/carpenter springs, muzzy nos with Gixx1300r's spray bar dry on mini progresser by nos. I'm spraying a actual 60 hp dry,but you need a good tune. I would spray a 50 shot dry all day long with a bar and prog''-window switch at 12.5 a/f on 93 pump. I am in the process of installing one of coby adam's new spray bar on my 06 to test it, i will post what i find, but its a really nice built piece. Bill....

i have the muzzy nos/shifter kit and using the 40hp jet, motor is stock but i do plan on upgrading the springs this winter before i put a bigger shot on it. I am with bill on the 12.5 AFR but i use VP MRX01 rather than pump gas
btw NOS ROCKS!! so far is the best bang for the buck i have ever done , as long as the motor doesnt go bang lol

First of all thanks to all of you who have posted lessons learnt and shared there best mod Info: (it is odd, sometime stranger are more willing to help you out than a person you have known for years.?)

Due to economic short comings I need informed info on the best (Safe) bang for the buck nitrous set-up on a stock motor with stock v-springs .
The relevant mods I have are:
flies out
hd clutch springs
16/44gear
PCIII (Stock pipe after taxes I will upgrade)
64.5 wheel base
U-Soft tire
( By the way I weight 305lb suited. So I need a little something, something to help even the odds.)
All replies will be sinecerely appreciated,
Thanks

Jesse and myself have run a 30 shot with no problems .. The 30 shot we used only made 21 HP on the dyno but as small as the shot was it did run very well ... It took me from 8.80s to 8.50s .... Pump gas 93 worked well with no signs of spotting on the plugs ... We did not run a Nos map , we just added 12% to the high side of the P/C buttons on the face if the P/C .... Simple set up with no extras .. We are using the twin nozzle NOS kit from Dynotune and use a NOS mico switch mounted to the Throttle bodys to trigger the spray at full throttle..The kit comes with 3 jet sizes a 15, 30 and 40 shot jets ..

Smokin that system your using from Dynotune, Will that spray at Wot in all gears or can you set it up to spray in 3rd, 4th, and 5th? I was looking to get the Twin bottle system from them but do have questions before I buy. Is there any negatives to a twin bottle system? can i add a spray bar to that system down the road? And one of the guys here said you way about the same as me im 160 suited im going to extend and gearing whats my best length still streetable, and what gearing for running a 30 or 40 shot on the bike?

For street and strip 62 inches work best for me ...The dynotune kit up will spray all gears or anytime you go wide open throttle ....I would come out of the hole and go 98% throttle and right before i shifted to second gear i would pin the throttle and turn on the spray ... If you go full throttle to soon in first it will wheely ...

I used 16/41 gearing for motor only or while spraying and that seemed to work just fine for me .. The twin bottles will work fine, you will get about 5 to 6 full runs with the 30 shot jets ..I used one 2 1/2 bottle on mine but 2 one pound bottles do about the same thing ...

This was a aftermarket arm

2 1/2 bottle on the stock arm

I could only get 1 run out of a 2 pounder lol. used a pound per pass(weighed it each time) on 60 wet and 30 dry. well Dynotune says 15 dry, but the Schnitz chart says 30. how a jet flows differently depending on the brand beats me since the Dynotune jets are interchangeable with NOS jets.....its not the solenoid because i had to swap out the NOS solenoid on my wet kit for a spare Dynotune solenoid at the track due to a leak...fucked if i know ?

I have a 80 wet, progressive ,on my bike right now, went 8.70 and i cant even ride and im 220 lbs.. Stock engine. Been running a 60 for approx a yr b4 this tune-up. I take 6 degrees timing out just to be safe. I change my oil approx every 6 passes, and check plugs after every trip to the track. If you keep a handle on this nitrous, your bike will live. Also, set your shift light way lower than normal. You dont want to be on the limiter. 10200 works for me.

Thanks..

havent run nitrous at the track, had shifting issues last time out. I also shift about 10,200.
Good fuel, and stay away from the rev limiter is key

yup thats 80 on the Schnitz fogger chart using the low pressure NOS pump(about 4.5psi). I was running 20 24 for a 60 shot and bought some 28s to change to an 80 shot(never got to try it). thinking about running equal jetting(28 28 ) with the holley blue pump set at 12 psi for the initial test run. my uncles vette runs equal jetting with the fuel at 9 psi
dry kit with the "mystery jets" is going on dads bike with a 28 pill. dynotune says 15 hp but everyone else says 30 hp

How can you tell you are adding 12% on the powercommander using the external buttons???? Does each light represent 2%???
