Woodbridge UK Today

Heads up, Jack Frost has just run 248mph in the mile on his Hayabusa Turbo at Judgement Day 14, Woodbridge in England.

Fantastic going Jack, that's a new 200mph Club record.

How much acceleration distance at Woodbridge Bob? And how long is the timing trap? Thanks. LSL

Larry,
Until Bob replies to verify it I'm thinking they run about 1.5 miles and have around a 3/4 mile shutdown.

The current set-up at Woodbridge is a two lane drag strip with the normal christmas tree lights for pre-stage, stage and so on. There is timing equipment measuring the 60 foot, quarter mile, mile and then mile and a quarter. This allows the members of Straighliners to do their quarters and the 200mph people to go for their top speeds. Apparently Jack put in two runs of 248mph and also a run of 221 with the fairing removed. Larry I can't remember exactly how long the speed trap is but I think around 80 foot or so and about a half mile for braking, which goes by real quick at +200mph. So Jack Frost's run was a standing start mile.

Last weekend there was a blustery side wind which is why Jacks fastest speeds were at the mile as he was shutting off before the end. If anyone is interested I'll post results for all the classes when they are available. I didn't run this time as I have a broken shoulder.

These were the best speeds through the Mile. Nothing particlarly fast here, partly because of the poor conditions which makes Jack's speed in the Unlimited class even more remarkable.

Pure Stock: Yamaha R1 176.0mph
Modified Stock: Hayabusa 196.9mph
Superstock: Kawasaki ZX12R 199.4mph
Nitrous: Hayabusa 191.1mph
Unlimited: Hayabusa Turbo 248.5mph
