on board air compressor

has anyone tried running a little compressor with the muzzy airshifter , and if so what psi do you set it at. i asked and was told it takes 120 psi to shift . but does that mean 120 psi each shift.

you will want to have a low pressure tank so you have enough volume to make a few shifts in a row. set it at 150 psi. you can just use the high pressure tank that comes with the muzzy kit if you want, or your swingarm, or whatever you can seal and can take 150 psi.

The problem I see with using air is that you are guaranteed moisture in the system. I'm going with CO2, and perhaps later, Nitrous.

You can use even a 9 oz. CO2 bottle and get 150+ shifts....without moisture.

shane is right, i'm using a nitrous shifter set up another problem on the 14 is where are you going to mount the compressor, because it will not fit under a stock seat.

a regulated high pressure system is the way to go. i use co2, but have been told nitrous is a cleaner gas.
locally i can get a 20oz co2 tank (from a paintball gun) filled for $7. good for a few hundred shifts
but if you want to run a compressor its up to you. lots of room if you extend the bike
