Broke the 6's
The last 2 times I have been to the dragstrip over the last 4 months, I thought I was stuck going only 7's on my bike in the 1/8th. I figured due to my weight (370lbs) that the bike just wouldn't do any better with me on it. Of course, the 2 second 60 ft times weren't helping any either.
Last night, after having tinkered with my mapping and the air temp being in the low 70's, I decided to make a trip out to the local track to check the bike out.....
I got lucky and there were only a few other cars out there testing and tuning. So I didn't have to wait any time at all to get on the track.
Previously, my best runs were:
1st track trip: 1.09 rt, 2.06 60ft, 4.98 330ft, 7.29 1/8th, 106.53mph
2nd track trip: I ran a 7.12...don't have the info for the rest.
3rd track trip was last night....these are the slips...
left lane: on this first one, I didn't lock the front brake. I just pegged the throttle to 1/2 WOT when the 2nd yellow lit and let the clutch out on the green. I was tickled pink with the 7....it meant I could get into the 6's.

left lane: I couldn't stop grinning from ear to ear....my bike aint slow, the rider is just a hella handicap for it.....

right lane: I pegged the throttle WOT as the 2nd yellow lit and dumped the clutch right after the last yellow lit. The results were alot of tire smoke then a huge wheelie when I tried to feather back the clutch....I had to get out of it to keep from hitting the outside wall. Raced against a small 60-something model falcon that sounded like a top fuel funny car. Don't know what he had, but it looked much fast while it was sitting still......

right lane: spun tire bad and Tokyo drifted towards the wall again. got caught asleep at the light.

moved back to sticky left lane:

left lane again:

left lane: best run of the night for me

Just fyi for any other adjustments I can make (other than more seat time): Our elevation is 1018 feet. I have Michelin Pilot Powersand was running 30 psi in the rear. The bike isn't strapped. The bike does have about a 5 inch swingarm extension on it with 16/43 gearing.
I still have the stock air filter but the metal screen is removed. I have a PCIII with Muzzy map and pump accellerator feature enabled. Muzzy full system M14 canister. stock clutch and bike has 6500 miles running whatever te oil the Kawasaki shop puts in it (free oil changes)
I am crossing the 1/8th just after shifting into 3rd and using 3rd for 100 feet or less. Should I go to a larger rear sprocket??? 45 or 46 for the strip??
What times are some of you other "Husky" riders turning??
I think I am addicted............. now I gotta go tell my wife........ wish me luck

At your weight and the mods you have, 6.20's will probably be your bottom time on your best day. Keep it up, another half second to go. I would definately put more gear to her to get there.

you should be able to launch quite a bit harder. ive been able to get a 1.74 60ft and my bike is stock height and length. My times aren't even great, the pro's cut faster 60' than me by a long shot. You can probably pin it out of the hole.

You need more gear and a smoother clutch hand. At your weight i would look more towards a 2.80-2.90 gear ratio, or more...(43 div by 16 = 2.69 or 45 div 16 = 2.81 or 46 div 16 = 2.88) Your 60' is where it's at...when you start seeing 1.7-1.6's is when everything will start coming together. goodluck
