Yep, couldn't agree more. A big part of that difference is in the engine design itself. When you combine the factors of Balance and Weight (reciprocating assy, valve train and transmission), when added on top of the camshaft profile you can have a engine with great torque readings but less thrust than a bike with similar numbers but with a better balanced engine with lighter components inside. It's truely a chess game, with lots of different pieces that are combined in different ways to get the outcome desired by the manufacturers. In Kawi's case, there 14 was simply meant to be a Draw versus a Check Mate to the Busa.

thrust is a combination of mechanical advantage and torque.
the zx14 and Busa are geared lower in 1st, and 2nd in addition to a 20-25% advantage in torque.

The graph clearly states that if you pay attention to speed in each gear.
