How do you take out the "flies"
Are there any write ups about doing this? Are there two sets of butterflies? Is that why they ae also called the secondaries?
Are there any draw backs?
Anybody got any pics? Service manual doesnt have any pics close enough of the throttle bodies for me to figure out what is what?
I have a PCiii and a TRE008, air shifter, and toying with the idea of a Spider NOS. I think I have read that the TRE has to go, or is useless with the files out.
Wanting to learn as much about this process as I can, before I start wrenching.
This is my first FI bike, so I got a little to learn about the fuel/air management.
Thanks

You won't find thing on this site about removing flies.
I'm pretty sure no one has done it. Looks like your the first to have a go.
Post some pics so that we can see how you went.

so how would applying heat with a soldering iron have the same effect as cool air rushing over the screw heads while riding?
anyway, i find this "flies" concept very interesting, ill have to read more about it. are there any published articles from scientific journals, peer reviews or graduate dissertations i could research to help support this "flies" theory? any science or engineering professionals please explain, i am not sure i understand. thanks!

CS,
The secondaries, or commonly reffed to "flies". are not flys as such, they are in fact mosquitios that Kawasaki has infected with the asian fuckilovemybike virus. By removing the flies, you are in fact making a sick bike sicker. Noticable symtoms include, harder acceleration, better torque and improved fuel comsumption. If the virus spreads to the rider, which has been known to happen, look out for the following signs, big dopey grin after a ride (this may last for several hours, or even a couple of days), reluctance to take the cage over the bike, increased longing to ride. If you notice these symtoms it is usually to late. The rider has been infected and is fast becoming an addict. The only known cure is 400 miles of unpoliced road and a prepaid fuel card.
You have been warned, removing the flies may cause addiction

Scalded,
Sorry, these guys can be sarcastic at times. This topic has been talked to death about on this sight. There is a thread with detailed instructions and pics posted by a member, and if I find it, I'll post it later. Here is a pretty detailed article by Brock regarding the TRE v. fly removal (it's also posted on his website brocksperformance.com).

Fly removal with full exhaust/pc/correct map will give you a condition known as "permagrin."

Maybe a sticky with links to the "horse beat dead" topics.
