mcair can we drop the 9/11 stuff and go forward? Obama is poison for any free country. Unless you side with Rashid, Ayers, Farakon, or Rev Wright.
Socialism and redistribution of wealth, a tax policy thats crazy, public health going to a system as bad as canada's.... change for the worse is not the change we need.
remember this thread after we elect Obama and he's had a few months to destroy what little remains. and unemployment at 6% as it is now? we'll be calling this the "good ole days" compared to Obama's plan

Steve: you are either horribly misinformed or just plain ignorant of Obama's stated policy plans.
The "socialism and redisribution" that you are talking about is simply a return to the tax policy of the Clinton era. You remember that don't you? 22 million new jobs and budget surplus. If McCain is your choice, we are looking at a continuation of the same ruinous Bush policies of unaffordable tax-cuts, crony capitalism and massive borrowing that has brought us to this point.
And what is it about "Rashid, Ayers" etc.etc. ad nauseum? There's no "there" there. You guys cannot argue policy, because the public overwhelming favors Democratic policies, so you come up with these lame character attacks. It is just divisive bullshit rhetoric like that - borne of talk radio - that has divided this country.

do me a favor, if you don't know what I'm talking about don't tell me what I am talking about.
the socialism I'm talking about is the government health care system, high spending, government programs, and distribution of government cheese when the job market tanks as a result of corporate taxes leading to higher costs of goods and services/less demand and ultimately less jobs.
I'm one of the middle class that will be out of work and hoping one of you rich guys. mcair, will be taxed to death so I can rely on the government for a handout.
THAT is the socialism I'm talking about. Not to mention the tax pressure of Clinton's era will tank this economy.

I am sure not putting the entire blame on Clinton but you were totally excusing him which is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard. You will get your wish, Obama will be the next president. I truly hope you are right about him but I don't think you are. I hope that if you are wrong you can admit it rather then blaming it on the republicans like you have everything else.

if the public was all for the dems there would not be a balence of power. remember. bush is a figurehead. he can not write any laws unless congress votes on it. and the problems we have now may be his policy but the dems have controled congress for what? 2 years now? they block him as much as possable. think he is the problem for hi gas? bad econimy? what can a presisent really do him self? well if obama gets in he will have more "power" with congress behind him.
do we really want a pres with no military backround?
do we want a pres with no expearience running anything? and they give sara a hard time? at least she is governer.
sounds like his older voting record has changed to become more popular now but who knows.
if you think the government caan run a national health care look at social security and va benifits. it will creat more un voted for jobs obama can put his people into.
i think he is a pupet with no ecperence and the head dem will be in charge.
can you imagin something important being asked to obama as pres? what will he fall on to answere it? his skills as a leader?( too much a bootcamp for real skills)
may GOD help this country whatever way it goes.

they are going to sit on the floor anyway, because your boy "Dubya" fucked this economy up. Look around steve, we live in the same town. Restaurants are closing right and left. Boat dealers closing. I'm getting about 0 calls a week for my business (glad that you work for Ma Bell) but I'm getting about 10 calls a week from laid off carpenters and other business owners looking for work. that's what happens when repubs get in the white house, recession.
I moved here in '92 right after Your hero Reagan finished his 8 worthless years, where he ran up the deficit and ran our economy into the ground. "Trickle down economics" St. Petersburg was a ghost town. The whole downtown area was boarded up.You could've have bought 4 city blocks with high rise buildings for a million dollars but there would be no renters. The whole country is fucked and you're worried about your stupid little tax deduction so you can buy another new bike to put in your new truck.
sorry fish I guess your thread needed some substance
Amen. Republicans don't get it. You may as well be talkin' to a dead horses ass.

October was a record month for us! Sorry to hear you are slow but the same does not go for everyone. The Clinton era was a tough time and we barely made it through. I hope things pick up for you. Our employees know if Obama gets in there will be a good chance of them getting laid off next year.

Let's look at is from a different angle.
Let's take an amount say $2400.00 in taxes and apply it two ways.
First give it to someone making $200k plus. They will most likely leave it in the bank or invest it in the stock market. Both good for the economy.
Now let's give it to someone near the $50k mark. Well that shows up on his paycheck as $200 more a month. Hmmm what to do with that? With an extra $200 that means that they can afford that new car. That has a direct effect, first on local economy (dealer), the shipper, the financier, and the automaker which our economy depends so much on. Just the effect of a new car is far reaching, remember much of what is delivered is outsourced and each outsource, outsources, etc.
Except for you fuckers that don't buy American cars, you are part of the problem.
The point is giving tax breaks to the general populace will have immediate effect on everyone.

I see your point Ted but our employees won't care about the tax break if they are laid off. We were strongly thinking of adding a very large addition to our building which in turn would eventually create more jobs. If McCain gets in we will start moving forward on those plans tomorrow. If Obama gets in we will have to wait and see how much damage he cause us (our small business). We have been in business for over 20 years and know how the different parties effect us. Things may be different this time with Obama but we will be much more cautious if he gets in.

McCain will start moving toward what plan tomorrow? His plan is the same as today's plan. He admits it himself, he doesn't understand this economy stuff. He understands war.

If McCain gets in we (as in our business) will start moving forward to put on our addition. If Obama gets in we will hold off until we see what the damages are.
Sorry for the confusion.

Ted, how do you like the Concours? I am thinking of trading in the 14 on one in a year or two. Comfort is what I am looking for as well as the extra storage. Don't get me wrong, the 14 is very comfortable for what it is but I am only good for a few hours on it. I would think it would be better on the Concours.

I like the change of subject. I love the thing!! I am a sportbike rider and have owned every big Ninja model (save the first 1000). But the Concours 14 is a riot to ride. The shaft is completely unnoticeable you can hammer on the throttle mid corner and it just stays neutral. The handling is near sport bike sharp. And don't be fooled, it is a very powerful bike, just in a different way. The seating position is near perfect. 800 mile days, no sweat. The bags are awesome. Finally being able to store extra shields, riding gear, security stuff, food and drink, etc. Best of all, many a sport bike rider has seen those saddlebags disappear in front of them. IMHO you could change from the ZX to the Concours and not regret it for a minute.
