Top speed with speedohealer?

I'm curious, with stock gearing what top speed do you get with the speedohealer?
Supposedly it's high 190's-200mph right?

If you change the gearing to 17/43 how close will the top speed be to the stock gearing before the speedohealer, since the speedohealer is installed de-restricting the bike? It would make it top out as fast or faster than a pure stock 14 since it's de-restricted even though it's geared probably right?

Are you asking what true, unrestricted speed the 14 will do when measured with a gps or speed trap?

The Speedohealer makes the speedo read low to fool the limiter so you can't go by that any more.

Best I have ever seen is 198.7mph by Mike Grainger at Woodbridge in the UK in 2006 achieved on a bone stock bike with standard 17/41 gearing but with a good tail wind and banging on the rev-limiter in 6th.

If you geared it down to 17/43 that would bring it down to around 189mph.

Very very few 14 owners will ever see the rev limiter, less yet a true derestricted top end...

With a M14/M10, K&N filter, flies out/ PCIII with Muzzy map I hit my limiter and it definitely had more to go, maybe another 5 mph. Maybe. Of course, at those speeds rider wind drag is critical and I'm a 6'5" big square cinderblock and took an amazing amount of wind blast on my helmet and arms- made it very difficult to see out of the helmet in fact, because it was shaking so hard. I cannot go 'full' tuck because of my size, but my helmet was only a couple inchs off the steering head nut so I did a reasonable job I think. Just no getting around the fact my shoulders were too wide and in the windstream...

I think he meant rev limiter in 6th gear.

without a turbo or squirt to take it way way past 200 MPH,, I doubt thats going to happen.

Only takes a mile long more or less straightaway to do it, just make sure you got enough slow down room. And bigdtd ya big goofball, you couldn't figure out what I was talking about? lol I coulda phrased it better - "few will ever hit the SPEED limiter less yet the true deristricted top end..."

There's always a place within driving distance to do it if so desired, it's just a matter of deterrents: (in the order most guys would state them, even if we all know the order is probably reversed)
1. Legality. Good luck talking your way out of a 188mph speeding ticket.
2. Risk. Death can be caused by a robin or crow at those speeds, not to mention the more obvious other animals that could cross your path. Humans in cars have been known to appear out of know where, also.
3. Fear. Your life is in the balance, and that kind of adrenaline rush is usually assoicated with the rock climbing, bunjee cord jumping Xtreme Games crowd.

A recently deceased friend of mine had a quote that spelled it out quite nicely:

Most people today simply don't have the patience or the inclination to deal with that sort of thing.

But for those of us who do, to that tiny minority who are drawn to it, the rewards are immeasureable. For us, riding imbues life itself with color, tinges it with adventure. It connects us to a time when people weren't perhaps quite so shy about how they lived. A time when everything wasen't a careful, exacting calculus of risk and reward. A bolder time when a fear of getting hurt didn't stand as an impentrable shield to the simple enjoyment of life.

So, yeah, those of us who ride are deffinitely different. But it's a good difference. We carry something that once was common but now is rare. Something of the distilled essence of what got us all here.
We're the last wolves, in a land of sheep."

nice quote. you definitely need to be in the right place, right time to reach anything close to top speed. no side roads or animal crossings............
