Bottom End Rattle
I started the 14 a minute ago and heard the bottom end rattle for just a little less than a second. About 3/4 of a second...............brraaappp............The bike has been sitting for about 2 weeks. I heard this the last time it sat for an extended period, but it doesn't make a noise otherwise. Any of you hear any noises if it has sat for a week or two?

Well, I did a search on this and came up with............everybodys rattles for a second on cold startup. Jeez I would have sworn it was the bottom end,  but everyone seems to say it's the cam chain tensioner. Guess I'll just go out and ride it..............

it is the cam chain tensioner ,, it takes a second to build up pressure to tighten the chain

Yep, had the same issue.
Bike sat for a couple of weeks with no start-up.
Started it up and it rattled like hell for a long time.
Blipped the throttle and the tensioner adjusted immediately.
Scared the hell out of me at first!

My POS just rattles at random. I'd be embarrassed to have a potential buyer come over and I go to start it up and it rattles....even when warm!
Started after the first oil change at 600 kms. What does Kawi put in these motors from the factory? 80w90?
My first two oil changes used Kawi's motor oil. I use Motul now, and of course it rattles still...
Nothing worse than being stopped at the lights and it's rattling away....
