lowering bones how to?
Well, I've searched to no avail and still have had no luck finding any info on the best way to swap out the bones on my 14. My 3 hole links will be here tomorrow so that i can have the bike lowered by the time that i go to the track on sunday. What do you guys have to say on this one? Jack the bike up from the center? lift it from the subframe in the rear? Just by looking at it, i'm guessing that i need to unload the rear suspension so that i can pull the bones off, but i'm open to suggestions as to how. I will be pulling the wheel off to have a new tire put on so would it be best for me to just run a strap under the subframe, lift the rear a little and then pull the stand out from under it while the wheel is off to unload the suspension?
Thanks for the input

I use my engine hoist and lift it at the rear frame rail .. But you have to have the front wheel in a chock .. I use a condor wheel chock ... If you don't it will on the ground before you can say OH SHITT ..................

I used a rear stand to lift the bike. I then set up two jack stands with a steel bar(45lb olympic bar) running under the passenger pillions. Remove the stand and your good to go. If you use this method, make sure you protect the pillions, the coating is pretty thin and scratches easy.

I use a import car wind up jack under the right side of the frame near drivers peg, Kickstand on the left. Remove the nuts before you lift the bike
Use the jack to raise the the bike only until the is NO pressure on the bolts, they will almost fall out. INstall top bolt in new bones lower bike to desires height and insert the lower bolt.
Let the bike all the way down before you put the nuts on. It saves time if you want to check the another setting..

I have two eye-bolts either side of my bike on the garage wall. I use two ratchet ties from the top of the forks to these bolts and ratchet it up tight. It supports the bike securely without the use of a stand. I can then jack it up under the engine and adjust the height on the jack to align the hole and get the bolt in.

I have pictures and description in my build thread. If you don't have a condor or baxley fron wheel chock, use a standard front wheel stand and rear stand:

If you have a set of jack stands for a car....just flip the footpegs and place the jack sstands under the pegs.........like this.

That's seems like a really good idea. I was wondering about an easy way to do the swingarm.
