Pic of black/polished wheels? Do or dont?
Hey guys does anyone happen to have a pic of a 14 with wheels that are powdercoated black in the center and a polished lip? I am thinking about this winter taking them off and having them done, cant choose between chrome or this? What you guys think? The bike is black also. THanks in advance.

here's my ZX-11 as it was going bye-bye to the new owner .. I had ZX-9 rims and the inside and spokes were gloss black and the lips polished . went way nice with the polished frame ... I'd do it again ...

Thanks xtro..damn those 11's were great looking bikes.! Did you do the polishing yourself? How bad was it? Got any tips?

Hey JD,
I've done quite a few sets over the years on different bikes for folks.......it's no biggie.
Do it right by taking the tires off the rims, goto Advance Auto or Autozone and get some spray on aircraft stripper. Use some duct tape and tape up the center section that you don't want stripped. Make sure it's warm wherever you do this, hopefully outside since the fumes are really bad.
Spray a fairly heavy coat and let it sit for several minutes, you'll see it blistering up. Take some steel wool or a Scotch pad and go to town.
You may have to apply a second coat to the stubborn places but it will come off and you'll have a dull aluminum finish.
Use a good metal polish like Busch's or Mothers and in no time they'll look great.

why you go telling the sectret ??? shouldn't he have to spend 14 hours doin it with a dremmil first like I did ?? lol ..
damn kid tells me later about the stripper shit ... F !!!! man I coulda killed him .. thought by hand was the way .. from a different direction came my techniwue ... NOT needed for this job ...
My rear came like that ... and the frame and front I did myself .. dremil .. lots of time ... and the plastics were polished for the sle .. nearly cryed to see it go ... but alas .. the 14 makes up fer the difference .. still .. old memories .
so yah jd ... stripper is the way to go I guess .. never did that .. and as for polish .. I used the dremil and a metal polishing compound ... glossy to the point of hurting the eyes .. just a light buff every year when spring cleaning ..
