Poll Question:
Black or Silver for visibility.

So the shop called and said they can't get any more Black ZX-14's to replace my wrecked one, they have a silver on the floor though.

My thoughts on silver is that it blends in too much with roads and stuff, black was more visible to other drivers.

What does everyone else think ?

Which color offers the best visibility to other drivers and such?

KawaBonzai,

Is your dealer smart enough to know that their were no black 2008 zx-14s, just the midnight saphire blue metallic that looks black under most lighting conditions? Did you want that or were you looking for a 2007 in black?

Sorry, yes, Midnight Blue. I was too lazy and just called it black, lol. Dealer know, they have my wrecked one there.

KawaBonzai-I've found that black bikes are the hardest to notice during the day time. That color just doesn't jump out at you like other colors. The 2 times I wrecked were on black bikes and it seems if a bike catches my attention to the point I turn my head, it's rarely a black bike(unless it's blinged out!). Now that Midnight Blue is real tight and in the sun the sparkles in the paint draws attention, (IMHO) that would be the darkest color I would get. Good luck shopping!!!! Post pics whatever color you choose

All bikes should be RED !!! My red 06 gets ogled by every car. Even parked it attracts a huge amount of attention. I have a black and silver GSXR1000 that doesnt get any attention.

Honestly, I do not think it really matters since cagers tend to ignore us regardless so I would just get the color that you like best. The only things you can do is get a loud pipe (Smeg), run your high beams during the day, and install a high decibel horn like the Stebel Nautilus Air Horn, and use it frequently. When you think about it most accidents occur when a car is changing lanes so they would not see the color from the front or the back, only from the sides. You can dress in "loud" colors if you think it would help.

Any colour with Halos and /or HID's in the day and night.

Very dark Red / Rich Magenta / Maroon are the 'darkest' at night. Maroon probably is the darkest of the colours at night. Black is too reflective.

I would go with the silver, although I do like the dark color. I just feel that visibility will always be an issue on a bike. That is a concern that always goes through my mind when purchasing a bike

I think that both would be hard to see. What ever you buy, keep the high beams on.
