wheel freespin?
How much free spin should a wheel have? When I spin my wheel I can barely get it to do a full revolution. This is the same on both the front and rear tires. Is this normal?

Exactly why some sprinters use O'ring-less chain, ceramic bearings and remove a front caliper.
Less than one revolution sounds a bit suspicious though. Best you can do without the above is to make sure the brake pistons are retracting properly so the pads aren't causing drag and keep the chain adjusted and lubricated.

Alright, removed the calipers and spins a lot better. Not freely but definately much better. Can you adjust the brakes or check them somehow?

Your braking system is working fine. The brake pads needs to be close to the rotor to stop you from hitting a foolish person in a car. Would you rather lose the braking in order to ride faster(more rotations)? If you could'nt stop, then I would recommend servicing. Just think about the braking system on a car....same concept...

front wheels on a car will spin more free if you remove the brakes too, something about the force/resistance of rotating mass may be coming into play
brakes. who needs 'em anyway

Yes to the above but the pistons and their seals can become contaminated and then they can stick preventing the pads from releasing the disc when the hydraulic pressure is removed. They do require checking and some maintenance occasionally.
You can remove the caliper and gently apply the brake to make sure both (or all) the pistons move out, just a little or they will pop right out. While you have them moved out make sure there is no build-up of dirt around them and then make sure they retract again with gentle pressure. High mileage bikes and especially one's that have been through a wet or snowy winter or two often have sticking brake pistons which continue to grip after braking. Usually cured with new seals.
