question about chain life
what is the estimated chain life,,i have 8300 miles on it,,i wash the chain every 1000 miles, lube it every 250 miles,,it seems like it is in good shape,,no kinking or dry spots,,i hardly have to adjust it,,good chain,i bet it is good for 15000 to 20000 miles ,my ducati was real hard on chain,,the L twin firing arrangement put a lot of stress on everything,,fires once,than 90degrees later it fires again, then coasts 630degrees,,no balancers either,,

that is a very obscure question bro.
1000 variables in place there...
check the frt sproket for wear, and measure the distance between the pins on your chain.
if you can find data from the manufacture, you can compare .
measure chain as per service manual to check limit.

Got 18K out of my stock chain. Cleaned every 1500 and lubed every 400.

10,000 miles and mine was done... but i hate having lube all over the place... unless SHE IS HOT, in a waterbed without sheets! LOL 
had to edit this to indicate I am heterosexual................ before the wolves got it....

over 14K on mine. generous with the lube...dealer says my chain and sprocket look new. use synthetic lube, not wax.
