Voodoo Exhaust ivans Tre 008

I have Voodoo Exhaust and Ivans Tre 008. I have not installed the Tre yet because I do not have a map to use with it. My question is the Tre really going to improve driveability as well as removing flies?

pull the flies and get it mapped, just my 2 cents. there is a tre 006 that is supposed to eliminate decel pop but i would not want to lose my gear indicator. and i like the backfire bomber.

I made this same mistake...purchase and installed the TRE...then decided to pull the flies and install a PC3. I ran the TRE for a couple of tanks of gas then got scared of the lean running engine as discovered by Brooks test, even though I called Ivan and they said it wont run lean but offered no proof other than their word. So I pulled the TRE and then did what everyone says you sould do...pulled the flies and installed a power commander. Dont waste your time with the TRE. My 2 cents worth...

I was talking to a guy on base the other day with a red 06, and he said that he has about 25,000 miles on his bike with no flies and No pc3 lol. He said that he pulled them one day just to see how it ran and since he couldn't feel anything wrong he just never put a pc3 on it. I asked him if he had researched it any and he said that he never even knew that anyone else had done it. Talk about someone that's stuck in the dark ages lol.

It may not hurt it, but its not mapped for optimal performance. performance is why most of us pulled the flies

ohh and I had it dyno'd and a/f rechecked after install and just for your concern there was no lean spike. Not even a dip in the a/f ratio.

It is probably the new TRE which WILL!!! help the abruptness of the throttle. Ivan is a GREAT TUNER and I think we all read that even in brocks diary the TRE did what Ivan said it would do. I dont know where all the hate comes from

BM14 It was in 2006 that the Ivan threads were out... and if you look back there you will see some pretty eye opening posts... (I personaly don't want to rehash all of it to tell you the truth..) Also, at that time, Brock also suggested for everyone to leave the flies in... (which I will not argue because he is obviously a superb tuner!!!)... but it just shows that Brock did change his mind on several issues. Most of us realized that pulling the flies and running a PCIII was superior than the TRE. Most of us wanted the bike to have its factory gear indicator etc... Many people are haters of MUZZYS as well... and that is fine with me. I have a MUZZYS pipe and love it. It is up to us to get what we want... and say what we want. I think most people would have the TRE if the flies didn't come out. Many people made their own "TRE" for under a dollar and felt that the $80.00 was rediculously high in price for what it was. The other problem was that Fish Antl.. had some bad E-mails from IVAN which really stirred the pot. The people on here are giving their input... which is what Sigma14 asked for. I will add that I have an 06 and can't reply about the TRE for the 08... but there is absolutely NO abruptness on my 06 with the flies pulled. I therefore had to get a PCIII since I got the full MUZZY system... so pulling the flies made more sense than paying another $80 for a part I did not need. The other thing is, another web site owner was on here and he was pushing the TRE. This is what really sealed the fate of the 'haters'. I stand pretty much in the middle with the whole thing... but I do believe that the TRE seems to not be needed if you pull the flies... We all realize that the ECU does run a different 'map' based on gearing, so it does make sense how the TRE works. I don't think anyone says that it doesn't work. It is just not needed with flies out. I write this just to answer your question as to where this hate came from... I am not starting anything... just going back in time to let you know what happened. I think that all camps were a bit rough with each other... but when the smoke cleared... it seemed that most people decided that IVAN's camp came across as a bit arrogant. For what it is worth. Without me going back and re-reading everything... this is the best I remember and may not have everything exactly correct... PS his tuning ability doesn;t really come into play here since the TRE just uses the bikes mapping. He may be able to set up bikes well... but the TRE is the same on all bikes. Several people on here have had IVAN work on their bikes and they were very impressed. That wasn't the real question about the TRE. Hope this sheds some light.

3boysand3bikes well worded. However, I had Ivan do my bike and everything he told me in advance was correct when he was done. My bike is fast, smooth and has no backfire. I am very happy with the end result. BTW they TRE is $60 for the zx14.

Kawi, are you saying, "redundancy"? Are you saying; how could the A/Fratio not dip if there is some 'tie ming retard' going on... Pee in my pants I'm holding it in... Walk it so we are on the same page. You checked both ways with a GPS hack and without. In other words you had flies out, and GPS hack that throws (6) in the gear window; she is frozen with that number on, correct?

Say it ain't so!
