ignition advance??

just curious, does the factory ecu advance or retard the ignition at all? I was looking into getting a adjustable ignition advance but if the factory ecu already has it's own ignition map then wouldn't it fight agianst it or say if I advance it 4 degrees and then the ecu advances 2 degrees under wot per say wouldn't that be 6 total? I'm on my cell can't type it out too well.

factory ecu advances for each gear, then retards the top of 6th near redline(speed limiter)

best results have been found with 4 degree's additional advance, and a speedohealer to fix up 6th.

I run SB6 MSD ignition, it has ignition mapping and is adjustable up to +5/-20, i'm going down to HTP today to get a MR9 tune and i'll see if they want to mess with the ignition map to see if the bikes picks up any hp.

man it's real easy. 10 minute job. Just take off cover, remove old rotor. One nut holding it on my zx9r. I'm sure it's the same. Replace with new rotor. Reinstall cover. Just know ur own strength. Hahah I'm bad about overtightening bolts and aluminum isn't to fond of that sh!t.

Are there any downsides to advancing 3~4 degrees with the Muzzy plate. I have one but not installed right now.

Downside is timing is locked @ all times.I went thru three motors with that thing!Had mine set @ 6.5 degrees had it tuned twice on a dyno.Bike needed more fuel cause on each tear down pistons were melted on the skirts and the cylinder walls had piston material on them. They work really good with the proper fueling I believe.

I might better leave it alone - definitely don't want to have to do any tear-downs because of it.
