A 600 ? I I ride pretty good but beating a 08 Busa or a zx14 on a 600 might be a little hard to do .. Maybe if the guy weighed 300 pounds and rode like Forest Gump..

The last year i lived in Dallas we had 100 Days in a row where the temps were 101 plus ...101 was the lowest of that heat wave , it got as hot as 110 to 115 depending where you were at ... NO WAY am i putting on leathers and riding in that !!!!

no i have been down all year, originally i thought it was because my clutch had over 200 passes but i changed it a couple weeks ago along with new brocks springs and its exactly the same. my 1/8 is sometimes 7mph faster than last year stock wb and 1/4 is down 7mph i am completely confused. ET is up cause 60's are better, but i also can tell by roll ons with my friends R1 that its not the same on the big end. i figured switching to the sidewinder i may gain some of that MPH back but it actually seems slower

Don't know if i ever asked or you have told me ...Did you ever set the zero and 100% throttle on your p/c ? .Have you cleaned your BMC filter lately ? .. I'm like you i don't understand your MPH loss..

Thinking about you MPH loss reminds me of a friends zx14 .. She had no P/C on her bike but had a sidewinder ...Her 1/8 miles were great but low MPH in the 1/4 mile ... She added a P/C and map and then it run MPH like my bike ..

I know you have a p/c but i wonder if it might have a problem with it .. I'm just tossing out ideas...How many miles on the bike ? It maybe possible that you have tight Valve cause a small loss in compression ... You could check that easly with a quick compression check .. ... Allso i would check fuel PSI , it should be 43 PSI or close to it .... I have seen and heard about a few Pumps gone bad after using MR9 or U4 fuels ...
I would also check you wheel bearings , you may have one going bad and not even know it ..

Again i'm just tossing out some ideas ...

3000 miles on them , well it sure can't hurt to pull them and take a look ... Mine have 3400 miles on them and seem ok but you never know till you look ..

I just noticed you have a HUB with your p/c ... I did you ever try unplugging the hub and running it ? You know Rick Gadson doesn't even have a P/Cs on his track bikes and still runs high 8s and low 9s ... I would unplug the p/c and see what it does ..

Jesse has my spare fuel pump , i can get it back from him if you would like to test it and see if thats a problem ..

thats not the first time i have heard that , i think i will try that this week just to see. i guess there could be a problem with either so i will try it without both, then hook one up at a time.

I had a PC 3 on my bike for awhile. Tried several different MAP's. Never was happy with any of them. I don't race or anything but the bike never did feel/sound crisp with the PC plugged in. Even with the stock Kawi MAP in there. Unplugged it and went back to the stock original equipment Kawi MAP. Bike after that always felt stronger, sounded better and got better fuel mileage. I really think that the Kawi engineers and their R&D know more and have more experience with the 14 than any after market supplier trying to flog his products with wild claims that just do not produce.

reaction times dont reflect on times, you not doing anything wrong you just need more seat time keep at it and you'll get it.

ok johnny. Im in texas also. Only about an hour from houston. Whats ur weight, are u running the stock coil on the shock. How tight do u have ur coil. How long are u extended. Are u running a shinko u soft and what psi. My 14 is set up close to urs. Im 5 over, have a pingel electric shifter and have a have duty coil on my shock. Im 240 and have just started going to the track. Ive only been once and the lowest 60 i ran was a 1.58. I had problems with the bike sticking. My coil is set soft. Soft enough for me to be able to pull the swingarm to the rear fender. Thats with me laying on the seat and pulling the swingarm to me. I dont know if this set up is correct for a 1.4 60ft. I had some guys that race on a regular tell me i wouldnt be able to do a 1.4 60ft. Im like thats crap. If other people can do it i will. It might take me some time to get my skills better but it will happen. I left at 7000 and still ran a 1.6 but ran a 6.3 in the 1/8. Please let me know because i want to get it right or as close to it as i can. Im going to try to get to 210 in my weight. Im sure that will help some.

I was at almost your same weight last year and my best 60 was a 1.41 but i was 7 inchs over. You should still see 1.4's with more practice. I had my coil all the way down to get it as firm as i could...muzzy lowering links on middle hole and front strapped almost all the way down. Track prep is the key to a good 60....if your track is poop it's going to be hard. Oh yea....shinko 10 psi.

It seems like 7 mph is alot in the 1/8. Its real hot here but never seen that big a drop. Saturday nite it was around 96 at 9:30 and my best mph was 118.86 that is down maybe 2-3 mph on 89 gas, thought maybe it was just the heat plus the stiffer valve springs, but that is kinda what I was expecting.

That is alot...that's like 15 hp or so, even for the heat. I would always start with the obvious...clutch,chain,brakes.....

Where's your PC grounded too? Did you use that bracket bolt that is above the plug where you hook it up? Thats where mine resides (for now, cant find my wire splicing kit to make it reach the battery). Before I hooked it up, I took off that bar it hooks to to check for connectivity to frame. Smart move, turns out they use sealant on the attach bolts and the bar and frame are painted thick enough to stop any electrical connection. I cleaned the sealant off the bolt, but the hole still was full of it. So I blended a small spot of paint off the frame and bracket so there would be contact.

I can easily see there being a grounding issue if guys use that conveniently placed bracket bolt to ground there PCIII...
