Track Days
Does anyone know of any track days that is put on in or near the Hickory or Charlotte areas of North Carolina.

A real race "Track" or a drag strip?
Carolina Motorsports Park located south of you in Kershaw, SC. If you plan to do a lot of track days, join the club and its more than worthwhile cost-wise.

A real race track. I know where all the dragstrips are but I don't want to stretch or lower this bike I like the guys I ride with asking me all the time how I'm staying with them. I'd rather ride like that on the track though and get some real experience instead of worrying about some asshole head on'n me.

depends on how fast you are. if that track isn't sufficient for you, come join us in FL at Daytona or Homestead.

I'm sure it'll be more than sufficent as seeing I've never been on a track, but we do ride about 200 miles of the crookedest roads around atleast 2x a month. The only problem is they are sharp low speed turns mostly switchbacks so you get lots of practice flicking from side to side. The kind where you're running 35-40mph and dragging something on the bike. That's why I geared my bike down so I could ride the curves around here in second gear instead of first.

NCzx14 Where are you located.... I'm in Boone. there are a bunch that go to CMP, Little Tally, Barber, Jennings, and My favorite VIR. VIR is having a cornerspeed track day AUG 11th. it is about an hour or so North of Raliegh in VA

I'm in Hickory. We're gonna ride up 181 to 221 to 321 to 421 up to Shady Valley and back on the 3rd of August.

wow I stop in hickory a few times a year and see friends. ride through the backroad twisties (around deals dap then east asheville hickory blowing rock, todd, sparta, mt airy, wilkesboro, jefferson, etc)
I need to look you guys up
i do JenningsGP often too, let me know when you all visit that track down this way!

NC i'm thinking of hitting 181 saturday or sunday this weekend... as far as i know i will be there to ride the 3rd have to work the 2nd.. i could meet you at the bottom or at the store at the top of 181

Tiger :I'll let you know we usually meet at McDonalds in Lenoir and ride up 90 to 181 to get some more curves in. I work double shifts every Saturday. Sunday is the only day I get to take a good ride on. I'm hoping to have my jacket back from Joe Rocket by the 3rd if it's not back I'll just cruise around.
Steve: Sounds like you ride through all my old stomping grounds. I use to drive through alot of those areas in the 'Stang just as hard as it would go. Let me know when you're coming through and I'll trry to meet up with you for a ride.

NC i will be there about 9:00 am i have a buddy from hickory coming up to ride. he is coming from over off of springs rd... i think he comes up theough colletsville and hits 181 right there at the campground at the bottom...

Yeah that's the way we get there too. I don't know if we'll be up there that early or not. Lol, There's only two of us ever on time when we ride, and one of us is usually calling my house phone saying I'm out here. I'll try to let you know by Friday. If just me and him are riding we can be there around 9 on Aug. the 3rd.
