Damn, I think I would be WAY happy with that paz! I will probably go for the first time this coming Friday. Going to be different than beating GIXXERS and R1's at late night lights with my old XX. I hear I am going to SUUCK real bad first time out. I've been very technical practicing. Find an empty parking lot, count out 20 paces, launch and think one one thousand, two one thousand and beat that. Quite Neanderthal if I do say so myself. So congrats on the good night, and keep two wheels down.

thats good my first time out with mine was 9.96@146mph w a 1.78 60ft.
Tiforce high mount full system/bazzaz/lowered and straped, 89% humidity and 97 degree heat. Youre doing very well though i would def strap that bike and lower it, you doing very well for your first time.

I just posted this on drag bike. On my XX, after the initial launch I didn't have much problem with this, but my new ZX-14 is a different animal. I saw where Rickey Gadson said if the front wheel is coming up, its your bikes way of telling you to shift. So if I'm in first gear at 8000 and the wheel is coming up, he's not saying to go ahead and shift there is he?

i agree, thats wayyy to early to shift, just try letting out as minimum as you can still allowing the front wheel to stay as close to the ground as possible. i ran 9.7's with it just lowered and strapped. mph is usually around 143 to 144

To follow up, some of the guys on Dragbike did say that is what Rickey was saying to do. If the wheel was coming up hard on you, then go ahead and shift and hopefully the taller gearing would bring the wheel down. The time would not be as good, but would be better than letting off on the gas. But they made a point of saying to just keep enough power to allow that front wheel a little off the ground, but with as much juice as possible...peg it when you can. Like I've seen on here many times...practice, practice, practice. Thanks for the help!
