Oil???
What kind of oil do y'all use. Synthetic natural... Is there anything I need to look for or stay away from? I usually use pj1 but with this new bike I want to use the best, not necessarily the most expensive. Thanks for your info.

i'd kind of like to know the same. I switched to kawi full synthetic this time and at first it was like night and day from the old oil that was in my bike. Now i can't tell the difference. I guess i just got used to it.

I run Royal Purple. It is the BEST!!! The dealership for the 600 mile service to go with the standard oil again to let everything really set properly, then go to the synthetic. I think I'll change mine to Royal Purple when it trips 2000.

I take my old car oil after I change it out, which is the most affordable I can find (Texaco gas station oil on sale works awesome!), run it through three layers of cheese cloth and then add 1/2 qt of 80wt gear oil (synthetic of course) to thicken it back to the original viscosity. Works great! I change it out after every 6K just like Kawi says to so I figure I'm good to go. Nothing like reused oil to get all the HP possible freed up!

Nothin' like a good oil thread!
Motul 300V. Just make sure you have at least 2,000 mile on the bike before switching to synthetic.

I drained my oil and you'd be surprised at how much weight it lost. it was good for a tenth of a second.

Captain Kirk on his ZX-10 just puked a rod through his cases. 2800 miles of pure racing. A good friend of mine who owns two funny fueler bikes isn't sold on synthetic. I have 19300 miles on Kawasaki 10-40 9500 miles with 5lb turbo. Kirk was running 5-40 Mobile synthetic. We'll know this Wed if it was oil system failure or material. Also there is strong evidence that Dino oil really isn't from a fossil source, bacterium contamination leads to the conclusion that is a fossil fuel.

With the high cost of Mobil one 10 w 30 i have come up with a cheaper syn blend that works real well ..... 25 % mobile one , 25% bacon drippings ( adds a nice smell ) 25 % water and 25 % sperm whale oil ... You have to order it from an Eskimo from Chukchi Peninsula in NE Siberia ... It's very cheap but the UPS shipping will kill you , so order at least 2 gallons at a time ... The sperm oil is very light and the bike will pick up a full tenth in the 1/4 mile from the weight loss alone ... Problem with using Sperm oil is the smell from the blow hole , that is why a add the bacon dripping to cover up the smell .. The hole mixture will run you 21.00 for 4 QTs and that is 2.95 cheaper than 4 qts Mobil one ....
What the hell would you guys do without me .... Smokin ... You can thank me later ...
