Got 3500 out of first set of tires. Switched over to Avon Storms. Now have just over 7000 on them and only half gone. i don't drag, just sport tour. I'm very pleased with the handling/ride and impressed with their wet weather traction.

I'm running a tomahawk t3 right now and love it. It's not a touring tire, but at 89 dollars before shipping who cares. It has about 3000 miles on it with 20+ runs down the drag strip, and 1600 of those miles being a cross country trip in 90-125 degree weather with up to 70 mph crosswinds and speeds from 85-186mph lol. They hook great and do really well in the rain. I expect to see at least another 1000 miles out of them. I would like to run a set of pp 2ct's to see what the feel like, but since I don't carve canyons very often anyway, I just can't see paying twice as much for a tire that isn't going to perform any better for what I normally do with the bike.

I have my bike modded and the 2cts don't stick worth a dang....but then, I don't think there is any tire that sticks worth a dang on these bikes unless it is a drag slick with 10 psi....
ps. the 2cts do make the bike want to corner...compared to the about to fall over feeling of the battle axes.

I haven't taken it through the canyons with them, but i can assure you that at the drag strip it never spun the tire once with 22psi and stock gearing on a bone stock bike. The track was very hot and was hooking really well (even though the busa guys running shinko USofts were complaining about not being able to hook up). The only problem that i had was riding the fine line between a wheelie and a bog. All in all i am very happy with the tire, and will be ordering another set soon. I will note that a couple of times i have downshifted from 2nd to 1st getting ready to turn into a driveway or parking lot coming in a little too hot and it slid the tire a bit when i did... but it was to be expected. I was being an idiot. I guess that a lot of people are put off by them because they ARE a retread, but they are x-rayed, new rubber is vulcanized on, and then they are x-rayed again. I dare say that they are at leas as safe as other tires if not safer. at 89 dollars per tire, anyone can afford to try them out. When cold, the tire compound is almost spongy, but as soon as you heat them up they become sticky to the touch. Well, gotta go to work. hope i could help.

pirelli corsa III 190/50 is really nice- i just burned thru a set in only about 1000 miles. running pilot power 2ct 190/55 right now and they seem to be ok, i just want more mileage.
im planning on a long haul road trip sometime soon, but these performance tires arent going to last. id like to know if a 'performance touring' tire exists.

I just ran my tire 1656 miles in 3 days across the desert at about 95 mph most of the time. There was a write up on here a few months ago about the pilot road2 that gave rave reviews. I believe that the guy was riding a zx12. If you don't mind spending the money, that might be a good choice.
