exhaust bubble?

I would like to know what the bubble in my exhaust pipes right before the split is exactly. I think it's the cat but not 100% sure.

I believe you are correct. It has lots of honeycombs inside. I wasn't too concerned about it because I went with the full exhuast.

Yeah I know the exact spot, my 06 14 has it too. I was told that the only cats in the 2006-2007 models were in the pipes, but that sure as hell looks like a cat to me! Now I'm gonna have to go look closer at it.

Superman: no pic, but its right at the junction where the pipes split from 1 into 2, 4" forward of where the mufflers pipes hook up.

Nope Sticks its hollow, I checked it out thoroughly when I mounted my slip-ons.....I think its just part of the exhaust tuning design The 08's have a "tube" shape not a ball...and that does have a cat in it, just like a car

My guess would be that it works like a mac pro chamber for a mustang and causes the exhaust to swirl making it scavenge better. Maybe not though. I think that it's to burn yourself on while you're changing your oil lol.
