Can i get a race ?
Last night bigdtd and myself headed out for a Sat night ride ... We ended up in a parking lot with about 50 bikes and 100 cars ( A known spot for drag racing ) We were there for about 30 seconds and guy walks up and asked if the Red zx14 was mine and wanted to know if i wanted to race ... I said sure and i asked him how much money you got ? He said he will run for any amount you want ... I said cool , now what bike am i going to race... He said that old 02 Gixxer over there .... I said lets go have a look at it .... As we walk up to this old Gixxer the owner of the Gixxer is on a Bull Horn yelling ( can i get a race ) .... He turns around and takes one look at me and yells on the Bull Horn ( Anyone but this guy want to race ) The guy knows me from the track and no way is he going to race me ... So no racing for old Smokin... Damn that race would have been easy money !!!!! bigdtd and myself rode around till 2:00 and never got a race .... Oh well we had fun anyway .....  Smokin

Smokin have BigDTD say that its his bike, do some negotiating, then spring on them that he is going to have his jockey DragRace and for him to get his jockey too!!!...When they get upset, tell them I never mentioned that I was going to ride it

it was hilarious, the ringleader of this group on a bullhorn no less sends this huge dude over to me and smokin and asks if someone wants to race, smokin says no problem, we walk over to the main man and he says anybody but him, you got to find me someone else! he says that with the bullhorn in that guy's ear. after that it was like the zx-14s were cryptonite, no one wanted a piece of the smokin action. the big guy on the search apologized for not knowing who he was talking to.......priceless! there was the usual stretched guys and hopped up civics havin it out for the rest of the evening at multiple spots around town, but they steered clear of the the big kawasaki.

Yes it is nice to know you have most guys covered ... But it's damn hard to get a race .... Just as well because i don't like doing it on the street anyway ... I would rather get them to the track and smack them around ...

Sure you didn't.  I wonder if they would have even raced me, knowing that I'm also a regular at the track. Will be at the track Wed, if it doesn't rain.

Smokin- what a legend! Even in the mist of a crowd, you hold rank. LOL, you gotta love the respect though(4 real). One of these days, I would like to come out that way(about 1.5hrs distance for me) and ride with the group(Bigdtd, Stevefl, smokin,tonyt,etc...).... All of you have been gracious with info and comedy. Oh by the way, You gotta love the ZX14!!!!!

The ZX14 is just a tool, albeit a good one. It's the surgeon holding it that earns the respect. I bet if any other up and comer would have had your bike and taken him up on the race he woulda jumped on it.
Problem with guys who have crowds of followers around is it makes it difficult to get a straight up race. If he jumps too soon the crowd isn't gonna allow you to complain, but if you jump to soon and beat him he can claim false start. Which means you don't only have to beat him legit, you have to in effect match his launch time. Not to difficult, but even a skilled rider is gonna lose a tenth or two on him. "Been there, down that and came away with the money". Most of the time at least. 
I miss my Camaro.... and that amazing thrill of a last second rush to win by a nose with money on the line! Man that adrenaline rush is insane.
*NO, I can't set the 14 up for drag racing* gotta keep reminding myself. 
Think I need two bikes again.

Hopefully it will not rain us out this Weds night and i will have something to report ...This is our rainy season and it allways seems to rain when it's track time ...Last week we had 2 feet of water on the track !!!! I should go buy a Jetski ....
