Dealership Service Centers-
Recently, I called my local Kawasaki Dealer. I was inquiring about an installation of an exhaust, pc3, bmc filter, and removal of secondaries. All things have been purchased from other vendors. The dealership flat out quoted me at 450 for all the work to be done. He told me the bike would be test ridden and all for the simple price of 450. Now I am not sure if that is cleaving someone. 1) For that kind of money I will do it myself. 2)That is more then half of what the pipe costs. 3) I would really love to know what pricing specifics they are coming up with also hourly (labor wise). 4) How do people justify dropping off their bikes for these prices?
I am just considering that most of these things that need to be installed are bolt on and I know that it wouldn't take a full hour for certain things to be installed. So with that said.. I just wanted to hear everyone else's opinions. As per my thread, You can see I dont agree with dealers and I will be doing the installation myself this weekend. The only reason for me checking it out was because I figured if it was reasonable I could save myself some time. But hey, I would rather save myself some bucks..

Well that doesn't sound unreasonable to me. It took me pretty much a day to do the work myself in installing the pipe, power commander, remove the flies and well the filter is easy because you already have the tank and covers off to remove the flies. Now up here in Canada most car dealerships and bike dealerships are charging near $100/hr for service so at $450 your looking at about abit over 4hrs. I'm now sure how fast a mechanic can do it but unfortunately dealerships are loosing money on vehicles (so they say) so they nail you hard on service!!

If I had someone that I could trust to do that work for $450, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
But if the money is tight, or the dealership questionable, I'd do it myself.

drew, give me a call - i think you should be able to do it yourself. you cant put a price on learning, unless you just havent got the time. you have the manual right? flip thru the pages so you know what youre looking at first.
