Caught n serious rain down pour

Alright here's the story. I was coming back from a ride to catch a flight. During my commute I got caught in some serious rain( Florida has Big Down Pours) and I took it realy slow to the house(like 30mph). The bike never felt bogged down or seemed to be effected by the situation but I was wondering. Should I replace my BMC race filter? Could any negative ramifications come out of going thru a storm as such? Is ther anything else that I should check when I return home from business? Thanks

I would have washed it before I left, that way you don't get any corrosion issues. Also cleaning any lubing the chain would have been good also.

+1 on the Wash and Lube. All the salt in the air gets dumped on the ground then splashed up on your bike. It's the reason cars dont last so long there!

Other than that I would MOST DEFINITELY toss the BMC filter. Better yet, send it C.O.D. to me and I'll dispose of it properly for you.

Just kidding, your filter is fine. It's a cotton gauze filter EXACTLY identical to what K&N uses on all there filters just thinner for the "race" designation. And K&N filters are used on all kinds of off road vehicles that get absolutely drenched and covered in mud, yet never stop working. On my jeep I've had one completely soaked with muddy water, so much mudd on it I couldnt see the mesh screen at all, and it continued to run. Then I cleaned it and reused it another 5000 miles of offroad only abuse.
