Here is a link to a write-up Brock did about TRE and flies out. Note the Air/Fuel ratios with both the TRE and with Flies Out without remapping.

That lean condition is not something i would put my engine through.

Removing the flies increases air intake. Do you make power from air? No? Then you need to add fuel both to increase power and to avoid a dangerously lean condition at lower RPM's.

Not so fast Freddie " soo the lean conditions are gone at 3500 rpms and higher?" I see the temptation not to spend the money on the powercommander. If you just want to drag race it won't be that big of a deal but on the street you end up using part throttle a lot. Looking at the map for sub throttles removed looks like like they said double digit fuel increases up to over 7 grand. Would it cause engine damage thats debatable. I however put the PC on the bike and through a screw up I want to blame someone else but no one was around so. What I'm trying to say is that I ran around for a day of so with a zero map no enrichment. Bike felt a little lurchy kind of rough. Much smoother afterward.

I raced and rode on the street for about 8 months with stock pipes, no power commander, and flies out. I had no problems and currently my motor is still running strong.

I will say that the motor puts out a ton of heat while riding on the street with that setup.
I even took some 2-3 hour highway rides out of town, and the bike ran fine. This isn't something I would suggest doing forever though.

Kaw now is correct in that with a map bike runs much smoother.
