first time to ever run a bike at the drag stip.... ever

Well, I've been waiting forever to get to go to the track and today was the day. It was a hot one at redline raceway in caddo mills texas. I didn't do all that well, but I was pretty happy considering that it was the first time I had ever ridden at a track on a bike and I had never really raced a street bike before. I know that my 60 ft times are what's killing me. My first run was horrible because I bogged and then carried the front tire about 3 ft in the air through 1st and 2nd. Here were my times.

7.58 lol, 7.32 ( still bogging but got the wheelie under control) and then I got my times down and pretty consistant. I ended up going a 6.76 @ 112.11, a 6.78 @ 112.47, and a 6.77 @ 112.3. My 60ft times were 1.7-1.9. I really need to work on my launch. I wish that I had thought to post on here that I was going. It would have been nice to have some help murdering the 1000's lol.

Good goin, especially at stock length. If your gonna be in the area, next Sat,(28th), 1/4 mile track in Rusk (south of Tyler) is having a bikes only event. Should be a good time.

I'm leaving out today to ride back to san diego. Oh yeah, those runs were bone stock. I took the slip ons off because they were really really loud and i'm getting ready to ride 1500 miles lol. There was an 08 busa out there that was stretched, strapped, geared and piped. He was running 7's all night and then all of the sudden he ran a 6.39. then another, then his bottle pressure went to shit and he ran back in the 7's lmfao. He should have been running that off of the juice but he was a chubber that couldn't really ride too well.

Excellent times for first time out!

I was *thinking about* going after seeing that the Pro Mods were protesting and wouldn't be there and it's only about 20 miles from me. Normally, Redline sucks because they leave the bikes sitting there forever while the Pro Mods run over and over. Was it any better? How many runs did you get?

i could have ran a lot more, but I ran 7 times. there was an older busa that was spraying really heavy running 6.30's, the 08 busa that i talked about, about 5 gsxr1000's, an 08 zx10, an 07zx10, an r6, and my dad's m109r. The older busa was pretty fast, but considering the fact that at a minimum it had a brocks sidewinder and map, an air shifter, nitrous, about 8" of stretch, and straps i really wasn't impressed. if he would have lined up together he would have had to be on top of his game or i would have beaten him. without his bottle, he was only in the high 6's most of the night. I can say that the track was prepped really well. I never spun and it almost stole my boots on one of the earlier runs lol. the busa guys were complaining that they were spinning too bad with their shinko U-softs lmfao. i guess that my $89 Tomahawk T-3 is just that much better of a tire lmfao. yeah right. The only thing that we had to wait on any was the ODRA (outlaw diesel racing association) rednecks that were rolling about 40 deep. There was a duramax running 7.60's.

Good job Bawls, sounds like not one good rider there on a Busa. My buddy who is 260lbs ran a 6.38 on his 08 last night and he's getting better every time out. I went a 6.002 at alittle under 60 inches. There's a 5.9x in it if i ride alittle better!

When I was on deployment my dad ran a 6.05 @ 122 on my bike at practice. He still has no idea how it happened lol. He was running 6.40's the rest of the day.

Lol, I was the only person there on a 14. It was hilarious watching my dad beat everyone on his m109r. If any of the 1000's messed up at all, then he would have them so bad off the line that they weren't able to catch him. The 600's weren't even a race.
