Pit stand panic
I bought a standard rear pit stand when I bought my ZX14 a year ago, and have never liked the idea of balancing the bike while you go round the back to position the stand on the lugs and lift the rear. The forward facing type rear stands appealed to me but are not available here in Australia. I bought myself a MIG welder recently and after a couple of practice projects I decided to have a go at making my own rear stand. My apologies if this idea has been done before, but in making the stand I decided to design in some safety bolts that actually attach the stand to the stand lugs on the bike, enabling me to secure the stand to the bike before I've even taken it off the side stand (note the two thumb bolts at the top of the stand). No more heart stoppages when the bike over-balances while positioning the stand. If anyone likes the idea, I'd be happy to help with any of the processes and measurements etc. Any thoughts etc (constructive preferred) are welcome.

Oh..... and this is just a pic of my "Mini Me"

Thanks, they're the Staintune pipes. Got a really nice mellow tone. They also have removable baffles for a couple extra BHP, and a bit more growl.

How much for that stand? Any idea of shipping to the US? I'm halfway serious. I'd be all the way serious if you were in the US, but shipping will probably ruin it.

Wow, thanks for the compliments. The workshop is actually the newest addition to my home. I needed a nice place to play with my toys, and obsess over the bike. Actually, I've wondered if the ideas I incorporated into the stand would be patent worthy. I may have to look into that.
David, I'm not sure if your referring to the character, or the bike. The bear is called a "Bad Taste Bear" goes by the name of Barry. The bike was one of the red Maisto models, painfully airbrushed in matching paint to my bike, both off eBay.

Thanks Sweetfa65, I was referring to the Maisto one. After seeing yours I've started to think about buying one for me to have it on my office's desk
Cheers
