Just my two cents, but I think the point of posting your name was so Mr. Muzzy could make sure who he was dealing with... I didnt take it as a bash statement of any kind as much as verification to make sure he had the right information in his hands

Just so you are clear. Prior to him posting my name I had already talked on the phone with his General Manager....who placed the call to me. I think everyone is aware of to whom they were speaking.

If what you say is the case, I doubt he would have been upset at Fish for removing my private information. What purpose was it serving? The company had already contacted me (at his request, I was told) well before he posted.

BM, i have a great deal of respect for you, you usually always post good informative stuff.................but your WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY out on a limb on this one, what your implying is beyond weak its riddiculous...................first of all like Shane said Muzzy's GM had allready contacted shane and KNEW who he was but even if Rob didnt communicate with Murray.............he had MANY other more sound options that did not violate his customers's privacy in a public forum such as :.........PM'ing Shame to speak with him privately calling him via his phone number like Murray did or even posting in the thread asking Shane to either contact him or stating that Muzzy's would be contacting him soon.

Muzzy's had many REASONABLE options they did not exercise, instead they chose to use poor judgement and push back and play the role of the intimidator rather than show class and good judgement and handle things professionally.

Bottom line there is not a single excuse that can justify Muzzy posting his private info in a public forum.

I realize Muzzy is a sponsor of yours............but i'd take the 5th on this one if i were you, your just trying to justify the indefensible.

EXACTLY RIGHT...........why would Muzzy have been upset at Shane's private info being removed............I'll tell you why...........because Muzzy was pissed that Shane made this public and WANTED to retaliate and attempt to imtimidate him by making his private info public as well.................which is beyond slimy!

I didn't have to provide him with my forum name. He started off by asking me if I was going to have the pipe on the bike in time for Maxton (info from this thread). He also told me that ROB WANTED HIM TO CALL ME. I DID NOT CALL THEM....THEY CALLED MY CELL PHONE.

Also, Rob did not ask my identity....he stated it.

I hope this puts to rest the issue of whether Muzzy knew who I was before my information went up.

This isn't even like a mystery or anything. The actions are fairly transparent.

The screwed up part is that I got online to post a positive follow-up after speaking to the GM. And before I could, the personal attacks started. That is like snatching defeat from the jaws of victory for them. Sad.

People are complicated and error prone, so when you see someone put there foot in there mouth or catch someone at the wrong time, just recognize it and let the shit slide fellas.

Shane posted up his mild but explosive rant on a site that Muzzy himself frequents, basically shoving it in his face infront of his peers.

The CEO Muzzy took it personal and reacted impulsively.

{Everyone else, in Bikeland fashion, jumped in like there was free beer and hookers involved... pretty sure I heard someone in the back yell "just hit him! you gonna take that from him?!" - countersteer, that you?}

As men, we should dang well know better than that (Unless there is in fact free beer and hookers involved). So Shane: posts facts only, and leave emotion 'out' and a way for Muzzy's to fix it 'in'. Muzzy: act like a suave CEO of a important (albeit niche) company instead of the father of a teenage daughter whose integrity is being questioned, and make it right. So what if he never shops with you again, at this point it's simply money spent on advertising and/or image control.

All others (including me after this post) should stay the hell outta it, and base your opinions on the final outcome.

It looks like there is blame to go around both sides here. Shane, you originally called Muzzy out online when Daivid gave you bad info abouthe new M14 not fitting your 07. Then Rob Muzzy poster, cause I don't know who's really posting, comes online and tells you David will not make the mistake again. Then you got the wrong midpipe, did you mention that online?
Finally, the dampner was'nt as advertised, for better or worst. You called them out again, Maybe Muzzy's thought you wanted to carry it out on the net after comments like this:

Quote I haven't called them. I'm not sure I'm going to.

Ultimately, I side with you Shane, the consumer, but you have sort of kicked the pooch a few times and she growled a little to get ya to stop. You should handle your business over the phone, at least talk to them before going online. Muzzy nneds to keep his employees off the boards unless it's personally approved. And while he's at it, become a supporter of this site as well!

I didn't "call Muzzy out about the M14". I made a post that it wouldn't work with the 2007, per Muzzy's (Curt, not Dave, told me that). Rob Muzzy came in the thread and stated it would work (with certain conditions) and that he would correct his employee on the situation. Where else was I supposed to get the proper information about fitment, other than calling Muzzy's?

After my post, the pipe went from a being pipe strictly for the 2008 (per the ad, and per Curt at Muzzy's), to a "must" (per the ad) for 2006-2007's with modified engines. If anything, my post should have brought them additional business. I went out of my way to purchase that Muzzy product, even after being initially told that it wouldn't work on my bike.

Like I said before, why would I call Muzzy's about the damper situation? When I did that about the M14 mix-up I was told initially that I "technically wasn't their customer" since I purchased from a vendor, and not directly from them. Would that make you want to call them again for service or support of a Muzzy product you purchased from a vendor? This is thread is the first mention online I have made of the midpipe issue.

I hope that answers some questions and clarifies things.

Shane, glad you stood up for yourself. Seems that most here see what is going on and the vast majoriy of Muzzys defenders (Rob himself, imposter poser poster mustang66, former employee Doug Meyer and 2 present sponsors)....just about everyone else can see and speak free and think clearly w/out Muzzys bias.

Having personally known Shane for years now, this guy is a stand up guy. I'm the more outspoken controversial type, Shane is a little more mellow, less confrontational. I'm more impulsive, Shane is more aloof with his decision making and mulls it over.

FWIW the times I have contacted Muzzys via telephone I always get the sense that they want me off the phone pronto. I get tight lipped responses with as little words used as possible, with as little explanation as possible. Not long ago I had their sticker on my truck, the pipe, damper, aluminum fan, block off plates, entire clutch kit, etc on the 12. Its been debadged now for quite some time. Muzzys glory days have long since passed, maybe they're bitter.

Shane I hope they make things right for you. Best of luck to you at Maxton...maybe this was all a blessing in disguise ;-)

I don't think my comments were "biased". My comments reflected my analysis of an out of control situation that was mishandled on both sides.
Any comments I make about anyone or anything are obviously born of a historical knowlege of the people and things involved. It's only "bias" if it is one sided and dogmatic.
