Flies out on 08 worth it. (2008 only!)

Yo!

So I've seen two posts now dealing with secondary removal on the 2008 model in specific.

The claims are that it doesn't buy you as much as the 06 and 07 models.

It's reported that the 06-07 flies open at 7,000 rpm whereas the 2008 opens at 3,000 rpm. That accurate?

So, for those 08 owners who have removed their flies, notice any big deal?

I would like to know as well. One guy told me the flies never open up fully till 6th gear. He also said the barely open in lower gears and just halfway in 5th. I've read it both ways, but the pattern still points to pulling them on all model years. You would think one of these aftermarket tuners would come out with a definitive answer????

Brief run down:

Stock: I ran mine stock only for a short while, I didnt like the hesitation at the lower RRR's. I came from a busa with pipe and pc with a great lower end.

Pipe and PC: After piping (Brocks SMEG) and PC with brocks map this made a very good improvement in the lower end feel with flies still in. I was actually suprised the lower end could inprove with pipe and mapping. Better but still lacking!!!

Flies removed: Best overall feel to the bike!! I really like the lower rpm torque. I dont ride very agressive, but its nice when pull hard out of a slow speed turn at low rpms and pull strong all the way up.

Personal overview: I would pull them again, though to do over I would have bought a new 07' and made the same mods for less $$$$

But then you'd have to deal with the Frame Recall.
