what are you going to race in SS smokin? the 14 or the 10?? you gonna do any prep for SS?
I'm going to run my zx14 in SS ...It much easier to ride than the zx10 ....I have been 5.90s in the 1/8 mile and 9.18 in the 1/4 mile on my zx14 stock wheel base, foot shifting .... That was on Brocks street map with pump gas , stock air filter and stock gears ..I used the clutch to run those numbers and i'm not that good at clutchless shifting so i'll have to work on that ..But that should be worth some ET ..

I'm not going to do the SS motor prep for now, I'm just going to do cermaic bearings and a few other legal SS tricks ...

I think i can run some 9.0s and that may not win anything but it will put me in the game ..
Are you running those times with ballast?if so you stand a good chance.
I would have to add 18 pounds ...But if i keep gaining weight like i have this year i may not have to add any ..lol... Damn Hostess cup cakes ...

Im not being negative guys...Records get broken everyday, good luck to both of you!!!

I was just telling it like it is...

A SS motor is 10hp more than an untouched motor of any brand, plus all the riders are the best of the best weighing about 130lbs now...sure nobody runs 9.0s in SS everypass but with the extra 10hp available after bogging or dragging the clutch too much it keeps you in the game...Those bikes mph 158-160!!!

Kim, Jesse has the Racers attitude, not a chip...

Rick i didn't take it as a negative comment . People told me i couldn't run 8.70s and i did anyway .... I blueprint motors for a living so i know full well what going in the SS class ... I mostlikey will not build my motor to SS spec but if Jesse get close I may do his motor ... Jesse wants to make his living as a pro rider and he is young and may have the time and spark to get it done ..... I'm 52 years old and my spark is a little dim ...These days i just like to challenge myself just to see if i can pull it off...

I found that the track map works better no matter what filter you run .. The track map is set at 13.2 A/F while the track map is set to 12.9 A/F ..That 12.9 seems to work real good with the ram air ... Smokin...

What type of motor mods are common in SS?

Also, why are you guys going back to stock wheelbase, does SS require that or is that just to hone your riding skills?

You guys can do it, Farley is makin' it happen on a 14, he has been in the teens.

I played around a little the other night with 9secondjen, she runs the series on a gxr1k.
She was running 159mph in the heat and wind, made me look like I was parked
She and her bike at legal weight, were 200lbs lighter than me on mine
