Very good first outing, I'll see you in at the races. I'm gonna run my 07 14 in 1000S.S. next year and I think it will be a blast. What bike are you running and why no shift light?

So are you saying you have'nt lowered the bike? I don't know how you kept the headlights out of the stars without strapping the front and dropping the back. I just got 1200 miles on the odometer and trying to get used to the bike before hitting the strip. I finally got it settled down a bit by useing the adjustible lowering links. Then I got a pipe and map, now the front won't stay down again. You must be slipping the hell out of the clutch or something, That's pretty good #'s for just starting out imho.

Damn, that is awesome! My best so far is a 7.1 at 112 mph, a guy that actually knows how to drag race (unlike me) took mine out for a 6.8 at 114 mph. He couldn't keep the front tire on the ground either.

I'm going to run my zx14 in SS ...It much easier to ride than the zx10 ....I have been 5.90s in the 1/8 mile and 9.18 in the 1/4 mile on my zx14 stock wheel base, foot shifting .... That was on Brocks street map with pump gas , stock air filter and stock gears ..I used the clutch to run those numbers and i'm not that good at clutchless shifting so i'll have to work on that ..But that should be worth some ET ..
I'm not going to do the SS motor prep for now, I'm just going to do cermaic bearings and a few other legal SS tricks ...
I think i can run some 9.0s and that may not win anything but it will put me in the game ..

Did the bike have a multi-stage boost controller on it? What kind of times did it turn?
While I will likely be sitting at 62 inches soon, there is a certain appeal to running fast on a stock wheelbase....
What is the best class to follow to see the fast stock wheelbase machines? (Sorry for the dumb question, but I just go to the track for fun...never followed the classes and such).

Smokin you and Jesse know that you will be subjected to tear downs for Tech right !!!...Hope you enjoy bringing the bike home in a box!!!
Also, you really need to do the SS motor prep to be competitive...
Shane, thats not a dumb question at all...You really cant use the SS races as a guage to see how fast you may go with your same brand bike, because that is the only similarity...If Smokin and Jesse chose to race in AMA DragBike without SS prep then you will see that they will be 2 tenths off the pace!!!

I think it would be pretty neat to have an 8 second stock wheelbase bike, even with a power adder. A close friend just bought a stock wheelbase turbo busa that has been 8.80's at around 165 mph on 1.5 60 ft. times. A very impressive bike, and you would never guess by looking at it (with rear fender and all signals!) that it could run that quick!

Rick that is if i win and i don't think i will win anything so no tear down .. I will only go to one or two of the races a year anyway ...If i run a 9.0s and i think i can do that I'll be happy ...This for me is just for fun and to say i ran in AMA Prostar once in my life ...Win or lose makes no difference to me ... And no i don't want to run ET class because i HATE bracket racing and i can do that ever friday and sat night here with no travel time .....

Shane you can't have a multi stage boost controller in Super Street .. You can have one stage after your preset ( spring ) PSI .... That makes it very hard to ride ..

well LETS SEE HMM without any bearings NOT TUNED the bike went 6.10s first time out which should be 9.2xs so me going 5.90s maybe 5.80s with seat time i think it can be done on a stock motor........just because you cant do something doesnt mean i cant....
