Engine Vacuum Synchronization ?

I'm almost at 18,00 miles on my 06 and it's time to sync the throttle bodies.
Went up to Suches Ga. the first time this year a couple of weeks ago and had alot of vibration on my throttle hand.
The Twinnmax seems the way to go for this procedure. Anybody used this gauge before ?
The Kawasaki manual recomends the use of a Pilot Screw Adjuster. Is this tool really needed ?
I saw one on one of the Motion Pron web site.

The pilot screw adjusteer gives you the 90 degree bend you need to get to the sync screws. I use a Vaccumate.
