Be very careful with the heat gun! it works but can also melt plastic. It's the method I use just don't hold in one spot to long!

HAir dryer.... My wife told me that she did not want another Kawaski in the garage - so when I brought it home - I grabbed her hair dryer and walla.... I do not see a Kawaski in there.... - it works like a charm.

I left the bike sitting in the sun for about an hour & then peeled mine off with my thumbnail. The heat made them sticky and come apart in pieces.

Get a piece of dental floss (waxed) and use it to saw the decal off; it's mad easy and leaves no marks. Just hook it behind/underneath the decal and move back and forth as you pull it along.
If there is some sticky stuff left behind, a little WD-40 will remove that. Then just buff the section out.

Hair dryer and plastic card(I use my driver's license due to a thin edge but strudy plastic) to slowly peel the decals off. I also put the decals on the couple of more plastic cards, put them in a zip lock bag and stored away. I like to have the option to take the 14 back to original!

I left my zx14 about a couple of hours in the sun, and was able to very carefully remove the "ninja" decals on both sides. Just be patient, and careful. Used a razor to "lift" the edge enough to grasp with my fingers. Just want a clean look.
