Road 2 190-50 or Power 2CT 190-55

Ok, for the folks that like to turn which tire would you go with? I commute so I don't want a short tire life but it I get 4,500 I'm good. I have an '08 with the original BT014 on the front but picked up a screw in the rear.

Which one would you go with? Price difference in nominal.

Thanks for the input!

The Road 2 = better mi.

I use the Pirelli Strada for summer commutes. I can squeeze about 5,000 out of them.
In the spring and fall a PP or 2Ct is the ticket

I'm facing the same dillema. I want the traction of the 2CT, but also would like to try out the Road 2... I would hate to install the Road 2's and find out they didnt have the traction I wanted. Then have to live with them for the net 4000 miles.

I think I'll go with the 2CT's for the simple fact I plan on riding with some aggresive riders on 600's and 1000's and want to keep with them in the corners. At least for one set of tires... damn the choices are hard!

Why not have both, run the Power in the front, the road in the rear. Lots of guys are running this combo with great results.

I am running the Roads front and rear, I have never lost traction and running 40/40 PSI. I have 2,000 miles on them. The rear should hit 5,000, while the front will go past 10,000

I have a friend who had the PP road 2, and he hates them.
For city and daily town commuting he stated the road2 was unpredictable, and slippery.
I suspected so as I found the strada to be the same.

Arizona might be a abetter place for the high silicone tires, as the pavement is always warm there summer months.

For us in the colder climates, I can not recommend them for anything sporting.
Unless I was making a trans continent commute, I will stick to the PP 2CT.

Thing is I'm very hard on my tires in the corners, I treat my 14 like its a friggin 600! Couple that with my 320 pounds and I need some serious traction to cope. Had some good results with my stockers, but they overheated way too quick, and they are now all balled up, with tearing just started to rear its ugly head. I thought tearing only happened on cold race tires...

So I ordered the 2CT's, 190/50 and 120/70 and with shipping to the boonies in Washington State it came to $300! Way cheaper than anywhere else I could find. http://www.derbycycles.com/cgi-bin/eShop/index.cgi?exact_match=yes&product=Michelin&cart_id=5232910.10458

I'm curious, why did you go with the 190/50 as opposed to the 190/55? I'm leaning towards the 190/55 Power 2CT.

here's what my avon storms look like with just over 2k on them, all highway. i bought them for a trip to new england but so far have been very impressed with how they handle. they seem to handle mid corner changes in direction and acceleration a lot better than even the power pilots but i haven't had a chance to thrash them in the twisties yet so the jury is still out. an excelent road tire nontheless, and i rode for hours on end at speeds around 100 mph in near 100 degree weather without overheating or flat spots

had power2ct 190/55 mounted today. rode about 80 miles to scuff in, so far so good. im going to rail it hard tomorrow, will let you know how it is. last tire was a pirelli III 190, which only lasted about 1000 miles but was a great tire.

Real simple: $20 cheaper! lol

I actually was undecided about that, because I know the 50 series will be a lower profile tire that will be stiffer but what the hell, there is very few tires that come in a 190/55 series anyways so I might as well get used to it. And I'm a cheap bastard, too
