Gimme a goddamn salesman

We all over time bitch about sales people. A short story from my day today.

Woke up and thought 'f..k it, I'll buy another bike today!. Phoned a Yamaha dealer at 9am. I 've got the blue ZX14, 13000kms to trade, I want to buy a black R1'. (Minor detail missed for my own financial privacy)

I'll call you back'says the sales man.

Midday

Ýou were going to call me back''

I will

4.00pm
'Listen, I was speaking to a salesman there earlier, is he there''?

''In a meeting, he'll call you''

4.15
and pissed

"' I WANT TO BUY AN R1""
In a meeting,

IN A MEETING OR JUST CAN'T BE F. .. . . . .D'

Tell him to call me or I'll buy the CBR

5.00pm
Bought the CBR
(for a better deal than I would have done on the R1)

Give me a pushy salesman anyday, you can always tell him to sod off

Yo!

Exactly why do we want to hear that you traded in a ZX-14 for a CBR? Why don't you go post that in the CBR forums, it would seem more applicable there?

Sorry to see you go off into the sunset on a CBR, you'll be back some day.

Buying bikes is fun, I'd rather do it in person than over the phone. I walked into the dealership with bike and title in hand. Salesmen must be used to window shoppers because they never take you serious. Whip out that title and them salesmen come scurry'n like rats for the up.

"Money talks, bullshit walks." ride your bike to the dealer and ride your new R1 home(after they charge the new battery.)

Enjoy your CBR, its a sweet ride....but too small for me.

deal with MOKE in Tampa at Barney's Suzuki/Yamaha/etc. I wanted an R1 only because I've owned several of the big 4 except Yamaha, never been a fan.

My guess is maybe the salesman was sitting at the table with a "real" customer, not some jackass wanting to waste his time over the phone.

And to trade for a CBR? That's the best part.

zuke dealer gave me the cold shoulder in '03. I was eyballing a copper busa for about 45 minutes. So I hopped on an took it off the kickstand....low an behold that got their attention. The jackass then explained to me about insurance liabilities. I showed him a wad of my 'deployment' cash and explained to him what he could do with his excusses for bullshitting with his partners while I was trying to buy a bike. Bought me a pretty green zx12 a couple days later from a dealership that actually catered to customers. Bought my 14 from the same dealership 3 years later. If my next bike is a Kawi, I'll probablly buy it from the same folks.

Reflecting on what transpired....they did me a favor. Absolutely loved the 12 and now the 14 has my heart.
