I'm really leaning towards 62" if I want to do anything at the local 1/8th mile tracks. The traction is not the best. At Maryland International Raceway I am sure I could get away with plenty more wheelbase.
Also, since I will be using the bike at some LSR events, too much wheelbase would be bad. There is no track prep at Maxton, just concrete. And then there is street riding to consider as well.

The lowering links you bought are perfect, get a front strap and drop the forks 1inch, pipe, pc, flies out... I recommend leaving it stock wheelbase for a while...That set up will get you in the 9s!!!
If you are going with the 62 wheelbase, then do a 16-42 gearing...

At the end of the season last year I ran some 10.1's on the 12R. Stock wheelbase, -1/+1 gearing, lowered and strapped with a catalyst seat. I weighed 250+ suited at the time.
I would guess I could run some 9.90's on the 14 without too much trouble. Roughly equal bike weight, more power, a little more wheelbase than the 12, and I am about 20 lbs. lighter than I was then.
I am just a little tired of fighting wheelies these days. I did it for a year or so on the 12. It sure is easy riding Racheal's extended bike!

The 14 doesn't wheelie like the 12 does during the 60 foot, if it does then we put the flies back in!!!
I recommend this set up because the 14 does not react like the 12 does, you'll see!!!
