Damaged Products from Schnitz

Anyone had to deal with any damaged products from schnitz? I have been waiting for Brocks sidewinder for 3 weeks now, finally schnitz had one in stock (Brock was still filling back orders) so i purchased it. It arrived today, first thing i unpacked is the megaphone and there was a dent in the pipe just above the name plate. What was strange is the box is in perfect condition, the way the pipe came out of the box the dent would have been on the inside. However Schnitz claims they will have to call UPS and make a claim, and the lady who does it is not in (Wont be till next week). I dont think it was damaged by UPS, but of course they said i could purchase another one while i wait to see how the claim goes. OMG
This blows

So Steve Do you have a different # ? I called 1-800-837-9730........ i only rant after no one at the business offers a reasonable solution. I didnt think buying a second one was very reasonable maybe you want to buy it for me and you can wait for the claim outcome

Save all the packaging and the box. Could be several factors that will determine if UPS will pay a claim which would go back too the shipper. This may include the shipping charges if a claim is paid if so, would ask too get refunded teh shipping charges if they were not included.

-The package was insured? was this an option offered you? if it was insured UPS would have a sign off when it was put in a holding area and signed off by a supervisor as it moved from the truck too the holding area.
-The bottom of the box will have a weight rating 200lbs is pretty common, 275 lb rating would be a HD box for an exhaust system. UPS will look at this really close I beleive for a drop rating as well as the packing material and the void area, what was used too fill in that gap very, very important both amount and if considered suitable for the item being sent.

-They (carriers) take pretty serious...

-I'm not saying this happened but not unheard of either for a end user too drop, than claim it was received that way. I only mention this as have too look at both sides -venders can get slammed for not be repsonsive when they do not credit/send a replacement yesterday.

Now anyone from Shinitz should be able too call 1-800-457-4022 and make a claim...takes only the tracking number and shipping address, what the issue is. Not unheard of for UPS/Fed-EX too take awhile too process. I have had lost claims take 90 days

It is not rocket science but must be the shipper unless you billed your UPS account number

Good luck!

Rick

Thanks rick for all the Info. I didnt have Ins nor was it offered and neither did i ask...i have great pics and of course have my own conclusion as to what happened.... but i will give them till next week to see what they will do....., i was mostly upset that there first soultion was to buy a second and wait for the claim outcome on a $1000 dollor purchase with no estimated time line...Maybe its not alot to them but it is to me........ I understand that accidents and problems happen but i was simply not assured that this would be handled in a timely manor............I sure hope to post a happy ending as to how well they handled the problem but for now i am just unhappy

That's bad service because I don't care what it is you sell, it should be,"Ship the product back to us and we will replace it with another one the next day after we receive the damaged product." Any other way is flat out not how you deal with customers.

Likely the reason there was no one in charge to talk to, would be the NHRA Prostock bike race at Joilet this weekend. Try again on Monday, or Tuesday if Ryan does well!

there is some truth to that...ask for some sort of credit cause it will get banged up sooner or later...IF IT WAS DAMAGED in freight why wouldnt you go after UPS or whoever
