If you do not know the mechanical history of the bike I would advise a valve adjustment. exhaust valves usually loosen and intakes tighten...you cannot hear a tight valve...alos have your cam chain checked for stretch.

My ticking was a #3 rod bearing drop the oil pan or cut open the oil filter and look for brase shavings.

I hear that a couple ounces of k1 kerosene to a full tank will help in that situation. Is that true?

Hell no don't put kerosene in your tank !! Injectors make noise , they all do it with some miles .....Don't sweat it ....

Wholly crap ghostman, you got that shit all twisted! It's supposed to go in the OIL to clear up sticky valves, not fuel for injectors. Automatic tranny fluid also works for that, but thats only advisable in old high mileage beater cars because it thins the oil ALOT, but it does have some serious cleaning abilities.

I would rather run diesel in my 14 than put kerosene it it though! At least the diesel would stop the engine so I knew I f**ked up.
