Like smoking says seat time is the key. As many passes as you can make.

What is the bike doing to keep you from leaving harder spin, wheelie, or bog?
Are you leaving at the same RPM and twisting the same way every time.
IF so you will get the same results.
Try leaving higher and lower RPM .

Patience man. Just get the seat time and it will come. The worst thing you can do is get fustrated, Just practice practice practice. That's all in seat time!

Smokin's words run thru my mind when at the track . . . .seat time, seat time, and then - more seat time! If you launch and it hooks with no signs of the front end coming up, then launch harder! Nightmare's times are scary too! When running a 1/4 mile, I think only of the 1/8th mile - 'cause if you haven't hit the right #s by that point, you can't make it up....

Go full throttle before you cross the 60' line! The ZX14 is an easy bike to ride. Just got to learn how to open her up.

I hear alot of advice to practice practice, but noone is really saying alot. There are lots of tricks in drag racing. Noone has talked about going in shallow or deep stageing. Where to put your butt in the seat to launch, getting your arms head torso legs in the optimum position, getting small to mph. Some of you have went to drag racing school, throw us illiterates a bone or two. There's more to work on then the right wrist and the left clutch hand, it's all important.

I also would add if you aint got it right by your 60 footer, you're not gonna have it right by 330. It all depends on how perfect you wanna be. Thinking you can make it up on the big end will not get you very far.

Get your chest over the tank. legs/feet back in a dragging position (like if you where dragging your feet) if your on a 14 launch at an idle or just a hair above twist throttle and slip the clutch at about the same speed. I drag my feet a little (touching the ground) as kind of a filler (lets me know how high the front wheel is). Feet on the pegs just before going in to second. Hope this helps. My best so far is a 1.36 and consistent 1.39

My best 60ft was a 1.54 last year, stretched and lowered. I haven't been at all this year because they moved "test & tune" from saturdays to fridays and I work on fridays. So when I finally do get to go back, I'm sure it will take a little while to get that 60ft time again. So yes, seat time is the main thing.

Don't feel bad I am wondering the same thing with the 1.30's. I have gotten pretty deep in the 1.40's but all these 1.30's out there are pissin me off! Even though I am a weekend warrior I still dont like the thought that there is someone out there better than me (Smokin and ZX13R) but if it were easy it would not be near the fun. Oh yeah, 16/41 @64" wb and 185 suited. The cool thing is the clutch is good in these bikes so seat time is nowhere near as expesive as other bikes. Good luck and keep us posted, and if you get in to the 1.30's tell everyone but me!
