Maybe you need to talk to some of the Head Shops , they may not agree with the better flowing head. Where did you hear that?

M-14 Exhaust

The reason they said the exhaust would not work on previous years is because they know that everyone has not removed the secondary flies & put in a performance filter. If you have done this & are looking for top end power, this pipe works fine for all years. This is straight from Muzzy, & they did say that you will lose what little power the previous models had below 6,000 RPM with the flies in. The 08's have a modified head for better low end & midrange but didnt gain much on the high end. I spoke to brock this weekend at bike week about the 08's, He stated he would not sell an 06-07 just to get an 08, The peak horsepower was not significant enough to justify it.

Ask Jim (Y2K) if the 08 head flow better.
He is very respected on here as being honest and he works with a CNC machine
that ports these heads. He would KNOW!
Pipe won't would because of flies and filter. LOL
Let's see if Rob will put that in writing.

The M14 is reported to make much more HP than the M10.
Who would spend $1000 on a pipe and not put a filter in if it were needed to get that extra HP. That's the type BS that could work in the 80's but not today with the internet where everything is in the open.

If everything is open on the internet about the 08's, tell me how Kaw claims improved power from top to bottom, all this while clogging the system with 2 new cats, a rich running engine, and meeting stringent new Euro emissions standards? The internet has opened alot of things up but the 08 has a cloud around it in certain areas. We can't even agree if pulling the flies is the best thing to do on an o8 while it's a no brainer on earlier models.
Is there any other manufacturer that makes a specific exhaust for the 08 other then Muzzy?
Brock is well respected and deservedly so, but did'nt he get rid of his ZX14?
I aqm beginning to think there were proably some ecu changes, bigger exhaust expansion chambers, better injectors, and some small changes in the head to allow a emissions clogged bike to make more power off the showroom. If I had a earlier model, then no, it would'nt be enough to justify trading up to an 08. However this is a mute point to those of us with an 08 wanting to get some bolt on goodies.
So far Muzzy has released some pretty good numbers with his new exhaust on the 08, I have'nt heard much out of Brock concerning the 08, other then he would'nt buy one, which he has'nt.

Brock has an 08... He had it at memphis I just dont think he feels there is any need to invest his time in testing it like he did the 06-07... Keep in mind a new busa is out!!! Brock knows where his bread is buttered!! Muzzy's is a Kawasaki company first and foremost!!! just another reason I went with the Muzzy and got rid of my Brock. Also if anyone wants to test one and find out I have an extra one fore sale check the classifieds

I stick to what I posted earlier. I would not have recommended the M14 for modified 06 or 07 if it did not fit. I will correct Curt on this.

shane: what did you end up going with???

so i guess the m14 does just fine on an '06 no flies + bmc filter... i might pull the trigger on one, found a full ss m14 system w/ oval can for $750 delivered... probably the best bang for my buck from what ive read.

I ordered an M14. Muzzy has updated their website to reflect compatibility with modified 06-07 machines.

I was very close to getting a Brock pipe. After speaking with Brock's twice, I changed my mind.

Flies removed and race filter or no filter to gain the most air flow.
