Muzzy M14...Won't work with 07 per Muzzys

I just got off of the phone with Muzzys. I was told by Kurt (sp?)that the M14 is "not applicable to the 07". I asked why, what was different, and he said that all he knows is that he was told that the pipe is "not applicable to the 07".

I'd sure like to know the technical reason that it won't work.

So I guess I either have to get an older system or someone elses product. I was hoping that this new pipe would be the choice for my 07 for street, drag, and LSR. It looks like an improved design. Oh well.

Just thought I would pass this on...

I don't think there is any difference in that respect between the 06 and 07....let's wait til one of the pros chimes in.

06 and 07 are the exact same. Any exhaust for either one should fit the other. Exhausts made for an 06/07 wont fit an 08 and vice versa.

That seems rather suspect since the other Muzzy pipes are listed as fitting years 06-08.

I have one on my 06... works fine they were even good enough to send a new little backet for the bottom attachment of the radiator and a small heat shield to attach on one of the headers. I dont see why it wouldnt work on an 07 when it works fine on my 06

Strange, I have the m14 on my 06 , there is a big difference from the standard muzzy pipe , all the tubes are bigger primary, collector and mid pipe. only thing you have to do,is install a new bracket that holds the rad out furher (comes with pipe) other than that fit and finish is exellent. let me know if you want anymore information on the pipe

Thanks for the info. It is just troubling when the company says it won't work, and yet it does. What is up with that?

What maps are you guys running? Flies in or out?

How does it run? Smooth? Any flat spots or surging?

Ever take it to the track?

Runs perfect ,no nuthin except power. I have just switched to this pipe ,previous pipe was the standard muzzy pipe. I do believe this pipe is more simular to brocks pipe with the larger primaries, mid pipe.etc Made for more top end hp , also noted is that i have not lost any low end torque ( but ignition advancer was added at the same time as m14) so i cannot guaranty you will not loose lowend without the advancer.

As soon as muzzy sells all the old systems in inventory, the new system will work great on the 06 and 07. If you want the standard pipe better get it quick , no more will be produced.
Any bets?

I am not a betting man ninja12 but if the M10 is going to become extinct, I would doubt Rob Muzzy would be saying this:

If you own a 06-07 stock bike I recommend the std. 06-07 pipe for best all around performance. If you are racing or have modified your 06-07 I recommend the 08 pipe. If you own an 08 I recommend the 08 pipe for racing or general riding. We do not plan to supersede the 06-07 pipe as we believe it is still the best for those year model stock bikes.

I just ordered the M14 Prostock Series sidewinder for my '06 model. Dave Turner says it will fit fine as long as I have a short oil pan (Adam's pan) and oil filter relocator, which I do. He informed me to prepare to fly!!! It's coming in on the 27th. Gonna update with pics and times when I get it to the track on the 30th!!

Did he send any M14's? That appears to be the best exhaust he produces for modified 06-07 and 08's in general. I read where R Gadson took a stock 08 and turned 190+ hp out of the crate w/m14 on another site. Then I read here where Muzzy says the production m14 makes better power then the prototype he sent Gadson. Are you fellas saying Muzzy is full of baloney? I don't want in the middle of a pissn contest, I just want the best pipe my lowly income can afford for an 08....

remember people, the '08 is said to have a better flowing head. a better flowing head will take advantage of the bigger exhaust. a stock 06-07 may not do the same.

just my $0.02!!!
