Air Shifter Installed Pics
We're getting closer to testing at the track. Our Muzzy shifter was finalized today. Thought I would share the installed pics with the solenoid mounted on the ram, +1 at Dubious. The body work will be back from Astonishing Creations tomorrow. Just some minor wiring to complete and a rin through of teh check list before firing it up.

why do you mount the sylinoid on the cylinder? dosent it look better to mount it under the body? or does it create a pause and not allow the timing to be correct??

On this bike there is no body so to speak once you see the finished product. The solenoid being mounted on the ram allows for quicker shifts. On a street bike, you are right, it would look more appealing not being there. When it's strickly business...put it where it works best. As for the installation, the Muzzy team worked it out great...very easy to install, great instructions & pics...all plug and play. This particular unit is a dual air / nitrous setup, with OEM wiring loom and it's a seamless upgrade to the dry nitrous kit. Absolutely the best kit out there. Anyone with mechanical a mechanical aptitude and ability to follow directions step by step will have no issues installing it at home. Please make a decision before you try it...us mechanics hate it when someone starts something then brings it to us to finish or straighten out. It will wind up costing the same if you want to leave it to the pro's.

I don't know how much faster a shifter can shift without the solenoid on the cylinder or not. I have had my Muzzy shifter installed over a year ago now and have the solenoid under the tank and shifts fast to me. I mean how faster can it get with the solenoid at the cylinder. I understand that the solenoid has air at the valve and once it gets 12V, the solenoid opens and lets that air hit the cylinder to shift but heck it is only about 12" from the shifter under the tank. As long as it works for you though.

mounting it to the ram is faster.......,
why the reg. was mounted that way is beyond me....., waste of HP line.........
Where are the guages? How do you know what pressure you are running?

Reg is there to eliminate plastic line which burst in the burnout box.
No need to worry about pressure once regulator is set, because even a super low nitrous bottle will be above 120 psi. Additional benifit is super efficent, look at how much air/nitrous is used during a shift. Done right the first time!!!!!

Looks good! I am surprised to see the regulator there too!
I thought my project was quite serious but that thing will be fast... mine will still be street ridden though too. That thing will have t be at least 100 lbs lighter.
You can still save alot of weight by replacing the subframe spars with 1/8" sheet aluminum.
get some lighter wheels when you geta chance
I saved 13 lbs by going to GSXR1000 wheels!
13 rotating is as effective as 39 lbs off the frame from an accelleration perspective!... so they say...
I went with the 3 spoke suzuki wheels because I got a killer deal, and I like the look of the 3 spoke.
Turbo, head work, trans, rods , pistons cut into my budget quite a bit...

Okay, then after that 120 psi is gone , and its the semi finals of a 1000 dollar event, what now........
How do you know what the regulator is set at?
This is not the only way to do it.
I have the same set up, but anyone can build a kit like this, you just have to know where to order the parts from........
I can get the rams and valve for less than 75 bucks. Markup on airshifter stuff is unreal........

Nox you can install a guage after the reg to adjust it, some come with a preset PSI.
Once it's set , it's set! Most people who would race for prize money would put a fresh $4.00
bottle of nitrous/CO2 on every few races, or atleast weigh the bottle to know what's left.
These bottles have reported to hold hundreds of shifts.
I know what you mean about markup, I thought building and selling kits myself.
Still kicking the idea of a High pressure conversion CO2 kit with reg.
